oẕi (p. 84) கிறது, ந்தது, யும், ய, v. n. To cease, desist, cease from actions, dispense with, to intermit, cease--as trees from bearing for the season or entirely; to discontinue a course of actions good or bad, ஓய. 2. To be over--as a market, an assembly, &c., கலைய. 3. To be excepted, be empty, தவிர. 4. To go off, forsake, quit, evacuate, leave, நீங்க. 5. To fail, decline, be extinct, become annihilated, கெட. 6. To die, perish, சாவ. 7. To be finished, terminated, ended, செய்தொழிய. 8. To clear off, be cleared off, removed by little and little, தீர. 9. v. a. To omit, to except, விட. ஒழிந்தவர்களெங்கே. Discriminating as nicely as the swan which extracts milk from water. அவன்வந்தாலொழியப்போகேன். Unless he come I will not go. ஒன்றொழியநானூறு, s. One less than four-hundred. அவனொழியவனைவரையுமழைத்தார்கள். Perseverance in virtuous actions. ஒழிவு, v. noun. Ceasing, forsaking, intermission, cessation, omission, ஒழிகை. 2. [in logic.] Inference by implication, omission or exception of the person or thing in question, in the conversation. 3. Want, defect, deficiency, இன்மை. ஒழிவிக்க, inf.
