tīvu (p. 244) s. An island, கடலிடைக்குறை. 2. (for தீபம்.) Any one of the seven islands, or continents, supposed to form the world in which we dwell. They are most of them; 1. நாவலந்தீவு, the continent on which we live, from the நாவல் or சம்பு tree, said to abound in it, south of மகாமேரு. 2. இறலித்தீவு, the next adjacent circumambient continent, named from that species of fig tree, Ficus. L. 3. குசைத்தீவு. named from குசை or Darb`ha grass. 4. கிர வுஞ்சம், from the bird, அன்றில், inhabiting it. 5. புட்கரத்தீவு, from the lotus, said to be there. 6. தெங்கந்தீவு, as having many cocoa-nuttrees. 7. கமுகந்தீவு, abounding in the areca. In Sanscrit, Jambu, Kusa, Plaksha, Salmali, Krauncha, Saka, and Pushkara. து துப்பு, v. noun. Provisions, food, உணவு. 2. Experience, enjoyment, fruition, fruit of former deeds, அனுபவம். 3. Drink, beverage, பானம். துப்பார்க்குத்துப்பாயதுப்பாக்கி. Furnishing agreeable articles of food to those who eat. குறள். 21)

tuppurvu (p. 247) s. Enjoyment of the senses, gratification, ஐம்பொறிநுகர்ச்சி. 2. Experience, fruition, fruit of actions, அனுபவம். 3. Great beauty, அலங்காரம். 4. Established custom, order, propriety of conduct. முறைமை. 5. (c.) Purity, cleanness, சத் தம். 6. Entireness, முழுமை. 7. Excellence, மேன்மை. துப்புரவாயில்லை. None at all. துப்புரவாக, inf.
