cā (p. 174) கிறேன், செத்தேன், வேன், சாக, v. n. To die, இறக்க. 2. To perish or be injured --as grain--, &c., கெட. 3. To dry up--as a sore, &c., காய்ந்துபோக. (Sa. Jya.)--Note. சாவ and sometimes சா are used in poetry for சாக. and சாம் for சாகும். அவள்பேரிலேசாகிறான். He is dying (from love) for her. சாவதுபிழைப்பதாயிருக்கிறான். He is dangerously ill. செத்துப்பிழைத்தாயா. Are you just come to life? Spoken of one absent, or inattentive who afterwards asks for an explanation. செத்தவீடு. A funeral-house. கால்கைசெத்துப்போயின. The arms and legs are wearied by walking, &c. சாகக்கொடுக்க, inf. To lose a near relative, to be bereft--used chiefly in expressions of regret, and in lamentations for the dead. சாகக்கொல்ல, inf. To kill, to kill outright. 2. (fig.) To harass, to torment. சாகத்துணிந்தவன், s. One who voluntarily braves death in battle, or by any desperate act. சன்னியாசிகள்பந்தி, s. [R.
