In most of its meanings, bad or injurious qualities are implied. It differs from கடு மை, in Several meanings. Like that and similar abstract nouns, it drops the termination and combines with other nouns as an adjective, according to rule. வறுமைகொடிது. Poverty is cruel. வயிற்றுக்கொடுமையினால்வருந்துகிறான்.
