These five things do not occur together oftener than once in sixty years. urṟṟu (p. 64) கிறேன், உரற்றினேன், வேன், உரற்ற, v. n. To sound, resound, make a loud noise, ஒலிக்க. (p.) உரற்றியகன்மழையும்பர்சூழ்ந்தென. As if a heavy rattling shower of hall had filled the sky. kuṇkku (p. 118) s. Crookedness, flexture, curvature, கோணல்; [ex குட, crooked.] 2. Thwartness, opposition, thwarting, எதிரி டை. 3. The east, கிழக்கு--Note. In the last sense, the word becomes குண to convey an adjective signification--as in குணகடல், குணதிசை, குணநாடு. குணக்குப்பண்ண, inf. To thwart an undertaking; to cause difficulties in business, to throw obstacles in the way. குணக்கெடுக்க, inf. To straighten a crooked thing. நாயின்வாலைக்குணக்கெடுக்கலாமா. The two திசை in the சரநூல் are: 1. இயங்குதிசை, the nostril through which the breath, passes for the time being; sometimes called, பூரணதிசை. 2. சூனியதிசை, the nostril through which the breath does not pass. See சூனியம். அவனுக்குத்திசையடிக்கிறது. A good planet is lavishing its favors on him. திசை, 4. The four cardinal points, also applied by some to the four boundaries of the Tamil country. 1. குண கடல் or கீழ்கடல், the sea to the east. 2. குடகுமலை, a mountain to the west. 3. குமரி, Cape Comorin, to the south, 4. வேங்கடம், a mountain to the north or திருப்பதி. திசைகட்ட, inf. To bind the points of compass by mantras. See திருக்குக்கட்ட. திசைக்காற்று, s. Wind which blows from some one point of the compass. திசைச்சொல்--திசைமொழி, s. Provincial words. See சொல். திசைதப்பிவர, inf. To arrive at a place undesignedly, having missed the proper road. 2. [ironically.] To say to one coming after a long interval as a slight reproof, you must have come by mistake. திசைமுகன், s. Brahma whose four faces are turned toward the four points respectively, பிரமன். திசையடிக்க--திசையடுக்க, inf.
