ōkkāḷi (p. 84) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. n. [prov. ஓங்காளி.] To heave or retch from sickness, to vomit, சத்திசெய்ய. ஓக்காளிப்பு, v. noun. Retching, incipient sickness, வாந்திசெய்கை. ஓக்காளிப்பாயிருக்க, inf. To be squeamish. 42)

kāṭi (p. 103) s. Vinegar, புளித்தநீர். 2. Liquids soured by keeping, புளித்தகள். 3. Rice gruel, கஞ்சி. 4. (For.) A trench, ditch, தோண்டுகால். 5. (For.) A cart with a pyramidal top, ஓர்வகைவண்டி. 6. (p.) Ghee, நெய். 7. Pickle, ஊறுகாய். (சது.) காடியாகப்புளித்துப்போயிற்று. The congee, whey, &c., is become as sour as vinegar. காடிக்கூழ், s. Sour pap. காடிச்சோறு, s. Rice taken out of the sour கஞ்சி. காடியாய்த்தோண்ட--காடிவெட்ட, inf. To scoop, to cut into hollowness or depth. ஆறுமாதக்காடி, s. Water in which rice has been washed and various ingredients mixed with it, kept six months, to be used medicinally for jaundice, incipient dropsy, &c. கள்ளுக்காடி, s. Toddy vinegar, sour toddy. பனங்காடி, s. [prov.]. The water in which palmyra stones are steeped and left to become sour, for fermenting the pulp of the fruit next day. சரகாடி, s. [prov. சர்வகாடி.] Very strong vinegar. 74)

cḷi (p. 173) க்கிறது, த்தது, க்கும், க்க, v. n. To have a cold, சளிகொள்ள. 2. To become stale or sour--as food, liquors, &c., in incipient, acetous fermentation; to be macerated or soaked too much, to grow putrid; to rot, பதனழிய. (c.) பழஞ்சோறுசளித்துப்போயிற்று. The cold rice has grown sour. சளிக்கவார்க்க, inf. To pour profusely, as oil or water on the head. 2. (R.) To macerate, to steep. சளிக்கவூற, inf. ciluciluttl (p. 186) --சிலுசிலெனல், v. n. [prov.] Sounding, as food when frying, ஒலி க்குறிப்பு. 2. Prattling, chattering sounds, படபடென்றுபேசுதல். 3. Detonating, crackling--as water in contact with a burning wick, சுறுசுறெனல். 4. Raining lightly, drizzling, தூறல். 5. Having a chilly sensation, as in incipient fever, சிலுசிலெனக்குளிர் வருதல். cerukku (p. 204) கிறேன், செருக்கினேன், வேன், செருக்க, v. n. To be dizzy, giddy; to be stupified, faint, or to have nausea, from taking strong areca-nuts, &c., தலைகிறுகிறுக்க. 2. To be choked by a bone, or a piece of areca-nut, stopped in the throat, பாக்கடை க்க. 3. To be proud, vain, self-conceited, அகங்கரிக்க. 4. To be wilful, wanton, presumptuous, rash, கர்வமாயிருக்க. 5. To be infatuated, to have the mental powers deluded, or the reason under the dominion of the senses, மயக்கமுற. 6. To believe in selfaction, and be insensible to the agency of the deity in one's operations, ஆணவமுற. (c.) மாடுசெருக்குகிறது. The ox chokes (from something stuck in its throat.) செருக்கிக்கிடக்க, inf.
