ayuktam (p. 22) --அயுத்தம், s. [priv. அ.] Unfitness, incongruity, a term in Rhetoric in which an effect is ascribed to a contrary cause, ஓரலங்காரம். (p.) Wils. p. 65. AYUKTA. 30) *

ēktēcm (p. 76) s. Rareness, scarceness, a rare, extraordinary or prodigious occurrence, அருமை. 2. Anomaly, difference, excentricity, வேற்றுமை. 3. A blunder, a mistake; difference as above or below the mark; greater or less, disparity; unfitness, incongruity, disagreement, inconsistency, ஒவ்வாமை. 4. Exception to a general rule, ஒரோவிடத்துவிதிபிறழ்வு. 5. Undefinedness, uncertainty, fickleness, சந்தேகம். ஏகதேசத்திலுநினைத்திருக்கவில்லை. I never even once thought of it. ஏகதேசமில்லை. It is without error, not different, exact. இந்தநிலமேகதேசமாயிருக்கிறது. This ground is uneven. அதற்குமிதற்குமிகவுமேகதேசம். There is a great difference between that and this. இங்கேநின்றேகதேசமாய்ப்பேசப்படாது. Don't use scurrilous language here. 11)

ollu (p. 84) கிறது, ஒல்லினது, ம், ஒல்ல, v. n. To unite, join, combine, கூட. 2. To agree, suit, be adapted to, இணங்க. 3. To be able, be possible, be practicable, இ யல. 4. To occur, happen, take place, நே ரிட. 5. v. a. (Rott.) To mend or braid a net, பொத்த. (p.) This verb is rarely used in the past tense. ஒல்லும்வகையாலறவினையோவாதேசெல்லும்வாயெ ல்லாஞ்செயல். According to your ability always perform charity in every possible way. ஒல்வதிறந்து. Exceeding their means-(பழமொழி.) ஒல்லார், s. Foes, enemies, பகை வர். (p.) ஒல்லுநர், s. Friends, associates, partizans, நண்பர். 2. Men of science, நூலுரையுணர்வோர். (p.) ஒல்லல், v. noun. Being able, possible, இயலல். 2. Agreeing, இசைதல். ஒல்லாமை, neg. v. noun. Unsuitableness, incongruity, பொருந்தாமை. 2. Dissatisfaction, dislike, வெறுப்பு. 3. Nonconformity, non-compliance, இசையாமை. 4. Impracticability, inability, இயலாமை. 5. Contempt, இகழ்ச்சி. 3)

ovvu (p. 84) கிறது, ஒவ்வினது, ம், ஒவ்வ, v. n. To agree, to be congruous, consistent, to be fit, பொருந்த. ஒவ்வாக்கூட்டிலுந்தனிமையழகு. Solitude is preferable to bad society. ஒவ்வாப்பேச்சுவசையோடொக்கும். An unmerited eulogy is tantamount to a censure. ஒவ்வாப்பக்கம், s. [in logic.] An unnatural comparison or simile, an incongruity or impossibility, பொருந்தாத பட்சம். ஒவ்வாமை, neg. v. noun. Unfitness, unsuitableness, incompatibleness, தகா மை. 2. Unlikeness, non-conformity, பொ ருந்தாமை. 3. Discord, disagreement, disharmony, இசையாமை. 4. Impracticability, absurdity, impossibility, இயலாமை. ஒவ்வுற, inf. To agree with, to be like, பொருத்தமுற. இதற்கொவ்வுறாதால். None is equal to this. (பார.) 5)

tku (p. 220) கிறேன், ந்தேன், or தக்கேன், வேன், தக, v. n. To be fit, meet, suitable requisite, proper, decent, adequate, practicable, consistent, தக்கதாக. (c.) 2. To be worthy, eligible, ஏற்க. 3. To be proportionate, according to, commensurate with, பொருத் தமாயிருக்க. 4. To be lawful, just, equitable, right, உரிமையாக. 5. To be peculiar to, appertain to, be proper for, இயல்பாயிருக்க. எண்டகுசெல்வம். Requisite prosperity. வியத்தகுகல்வி. Admirable erudition. (p.) தகுந்தாற்போல. As convenient, as proper. செய்யத்தகுங்காரியம். The thing proper to be done. 2. A possible or practicable thing. தகுந்தமட்டும். As far as in one's power. தகாத, adj. Improper, unsuitable, unfit. தகாதது, appel. n. That which is unfit. தகாதவன், s. An improper, unsuitable, indecent, unfit, incompetent or despicable person. தகாமை, v. noun. (neg.) Unfitness, unsuitableness, inadequacy, impropriety, inability, unworthiness, incompetency, inexpediency, incongruity, தகு தியின்மை. தகுந்தகாதென்றறிய, inf. To know whether a thing is proper or not. தகுமானபுள்ளி--தகுமானமனிதன், s. A worthy, responsible, competent man; a man of substance or wealth. (c.) தகுந்த அவுழ்தம், s. Proper remedy. தகுந்தசெலவு, v. noun. Proper expenditure. தகுந்தபிராயம், s. Proper age. தகுமானஏது, s. A reasonable cause. தகுமானவேளை--தகுந்தவேளை, s. Due time, proper time. தகும, (third per. neuter.) It is proper, necessary. தகும்படி, adv. Properly, decently, orderly, &c. 2)

pakkam (p. 288) --பக்ஷம்--பட்சம், s. Side, புறம். (See அக்கம்.) 2. Contiguity, nearness, அருகு. 3. Place, இடம். 4. Faction, interest, party, பிரிவு. 5. Affection, friendship, kindness, attachment, நட்பு. 6. The half of a lunar month for fortnight. See அபரபக்ஷம், பூர்வபக்ஷம். 7. An argument, thesis, proposition advanced, கோட்பாடு. 8. The wing or feather, புட்சிறகு. W. p. 49. PAKSHA.--Note. பக்கம், [in logic.] A twofold relation:--1. புறப்பக்கம், or புறுத்துப்பக்கம், an inference regarding exterior or secular matters; 2. உட்பக்கம், or அகப்பக்கம், connected with mental or religious truths. Each of these is applicable to two species of comparison; 1. நிகர்பக்கம், துல்லியபக்கம், ஒப்பாம்பக் கம், or சபக்கம், proper comparison, or deduction from analogy; thus for புறப்பக்கம், there is smoke, therefore there is fire; and for உட்பக்கம், regarding moral actions, originated in the mind; analogy refers them to maya, மாயை, as their basis. The agreement between this doctrine and the experience of a person, is ground of rational deduction. 2. நிகராப்பக்கம், ஒவ்வாதபக் கம், or விபக்கம், improper comparison, involving incongruity, absurdity, impossibility; thus for புறப்பக்கம், to say 'there is fire in water' is an absurdity in affairs of common life; for உட்பக்கம், to say that the basis of Siva's knowledge is மாயை, is an absurdity. In spiritual things the mental faculties, as well as the senses, are referred to மா யை, as their basis, and medium of acquiring knowledge. The சூக்கும body, the immediate source of consciousness, is referred to the same principle; and when the soul is liberated from births these are resolved into their original principles. பக்கத்திலேவாங்கிக்கொள்ளுதல். Borrowing in the neighborhood, or of others besides the persons in question. அவர்பக்கத்துக்காரியகாரன். He is his agent. எனக்குப்பக்கத்திலேஇரு. Sit be me. பக்கக்கிரகணம், s. Eclipse of the sun and moon, or the contrary, in succeeding changes of the moon. பக்கக்குடுமி, s. [loc. சிலுப்பா.] Men's hair-locks left growing over the ears, and tied behind. பக்கசூலை, s. A pain in the side, inflammation of the liver. See சூலை. பக்கச்செடில், s. A self torture, by running iron sticks, through the sides, See செடில். பக்கச்சொல், s. A word in one's favor. பக்கச்சொல்லாளி, s. A spokesman, a puffer, an advocate. பக்கத்துக்கிளி, s. [prov.] The one who passes in கிளித்தட்டு play. See கிளி. பக்கத்துணை, s. An aid, a companion, a supporter. பக்கத்தெலும்பு, s. A side-bone. பக்கபாதம், s. Partisanship, &c. See பட்சபாதம். பக்கப்பவுந்திரம், s. A fistula on either side of the privities. See பகந்திரம். பக்கப்பிளவை, s. A cancer or carbuncle in the side. பக்கவளை, s. A beam in the side of a bungalow or house, &c. See வளை. பக்கவாட்டு, s. That which is aside, or beside, as an irrelevant question, or subject. 2. Sidelong. பக்கவாதம், s. Partial or lateral palay. See வாதம். 2. As பக்கபாதம். பக்கவாயு, s. Sarcocele, with swelling in the side. பக்கவெட்டுப்போட, inf. To tickle one in the side. பக்கவேர், s. Side root of a tree, not shooting downward. 2)

poruntu (p. 337) கிறேன், பொருந்தினேன், வே ன், பொருந்த, v. n. To combine with, கலக்க. 2. To harmonize, ஒக்க. 3. To be suitable, proper, agreeable, appropriate, ஏற்க. 4. To contract with, கூலிபொருந்த. 5. To join with, சேர. 6. To occur, happen, சம்பவிக்க. 7. To be accustomed to, as climate, food, அடுக்க. 8. [superstitiously.] To agree with one--as his wife, cattle or house, இயைய. 9. To succeed, come to a prosperous issue, பலிக்க. 1. To agree together, ஒன்றிவாழ. 11. To like, to be pleased with, இனப்பட. அதுஎனக்குப்பொருந்தாது. It does not suit me. பொருந்தச்சொல்வோர், appel. n. Teachers of the vedas, &c., as ஓத்து ரைப்போர். பொருந்தர், appel. n. Weavers, as joining threads, நெய்வோர். 2. (சது.) Mat and basket makers, மேதரவர். பொருந்தலர்--பொருந்தார், appel. n. Foes, hostile powers, பகைவர். (p.) பொருந்தவைக்க, inf. To join things separated, to set broken bones, to reunite. 2. To put in order. பொருந்தாமை, v. noun. [neg.] Disagreement, unsuitableness, incongruity, inconsistency, வெறுப்பு. பொருந்தாதநாள், s. Lunar days, not harmonizing with the sign of one's birth. பொருந்திக்கொடுக்க, inf. To give a work on contract. பொருந்திக்கொள்ள, inf. To agree, to bargain, to stipulate. பொருந்திவாங்க, inf.
