cāṉavi (p. 181) --சான்னவி, s. The Ganges, as daughter of சன்னு, Jahnu, a Rishi whose devotion was disturbed by the river in its course, and who therefore swallowed its waters. To curse, to utter a malediction, especially with power, real or supposed, to give it effect. சாபத்தீடு, s. [vul.] An imprecation, a curse. 2. The effects of a curse. சாபநிவாரணம்--சாபநிவர்த்தி--சாபவி மோசனம், v. noun. The removal of a curse, usually by its author in consequence of some atonement, or intercession. சாபநீங்குதல்--சாபந்தொலைதல், v. noun. The expiring or removal of a curse. சாபம்நீக்க, inf. To remove the curse formerly pronounced upon certain medicinal plants by different Rishis; or by Sita wife of Rama, when in captivity in Lanka, to prevent their being employed as a philter to allure her affections. muṉṉiṭ (p. 361) inf. To put before; to advance, to go foremost, முந்த. 2. To succeed, be successful, அனுகூலமாக. 3. To meet one, எதிர்ப்பட. 4. To let another go first. 5. To be prompt, ready, forward, in a good sense, தலைப்பட. 6. To invoke, through one's intercession, துணை க்கொள்ள. உனக்குக்காரியமுன்னிடும். Your affair will succeed. நான்புறப்படவும்அவன்வந்துமுன்னிட்டான். He met me as I set out. வாசலிலவனைமுன்னிட்டுப்போனான். At the door, he let him go in first. (Beschi.) சுவாமிமுன்னிட்டுதவும்.
