irāṭṭiṉm (p. 50) s. A spinning wheel, நூனூற்குமியந்திரம். (c.) இராட்டினஞ்சுற்ற--இராட்டினந்தி ரிக்க--இராட்டினமாட்ட, inf. To spin yarn, thread, &c., with a spinning wheel. இராட்டினவாழை, s. A species of plantain whose bunches have an intermediate blank space, ஓர்வகைவாழை. இராட்டினவூசல்--இராட்டினவூஞ் சல், s. A kind of turning swing with four vanes like a wind mill-sometimes called the fandango, ஓரூசல். 27) *

virāṭṭu (p. 397) s. The first progeny of Brahma, who, having divided himself into male and female, produced Viraj from the female; Viraj by himself produced the first Menu, or Swayamb'huva, who was the progenitor of the Prajapatis, and the secondary framer of the visible world. According to some, Viraj is the same as Para-Brahma. the primary cause. See W. p. 781. VIRAJ. Others consider him to be the same as Parama-purusha, or Vishnu; who, after being formed, offered up himself in sacrifice. See Kennedy's An. 2.
