To become extinct, exhausted; to be laid waste, desolate. அந்தப்புண்ணியங்கீணமானபின்பு. When the virtue of those good deeds is all exhausted. *கீணர்--க்ஷீணர், s. The poor, the miserable, வறியர். A slice, a piece cut off longitudinally, a slip, a snip, கீற்று. 4. [prov.] The half of a cocoanut-leaf or esculent palmyra root, தென்னோலைஅல்லதுபனங்கிழங்கின்பாதி. 5. Scrawl, writing, எழுத்து. கீற்றுமதி--பிறைக்கீறு, s. The crescent moon----as seen on the third day after new moon. கைக்கீறு, s. A note of hand; a mark by such as cannot write. காய்க்கீறு, s. A slice of unripe fruit. தலையிலேநல்லகீறு, s. Good luck, good fortune; lit. good writing in the head. 48)

kīṟu (p. 113) கிறேன், கீறினேன், வேன், கீற, v. a. To draw or strike a line; to mark, to streak, to draw lines, வரிகீற. 2. To scribble, to make marks, to write, to grave, எழுத. 3. To scratch, wound slightly--as a cat, வறண்ட. 4. To rend, tear, split, கிழிக்க. 5. To cut, to gash, to lance, make an incision, to dissect, ஆயுதத்தாற்கீற. 6. To cut off a slice, to slice, to cut off longitudinally, வகிர. 7. To blot out, to obliterate, to erase, கிறுக்க. 8. To rub or try--as gold on the touch-stone, உரைகல்லிலுரைக்க. 9. [prov.] To give a hint, a clue, &c., to a subject; to hint at, குறிப்புக்காட்ட. கீறிக்காட்டினாற்போதும். If a hint be given, it is enough--he will be able to make it out. கீறிக்காயப்போட--கீறிக்காயவைக்க, inf. To slit a fish, &c., and dry in the sun. கீறிப்போட--கீறிவைக்க, inf. To cut, to slit. கீறிப்பார்க்க, inf. To dissect, to anatomize. 2. To slice out, to cut off. கீறியாற்ற, inf. To bring to friendly terms. கீறியெடுக்க--கீறியெடுத்துப்போட, inf. To have clifts, chinks or chaps--as in timber. கீற்றுக்கால், s. A chapped foot. See under கால், s. கீற்றுமுடைய--கீற்றுப்பின்ன, inf. To plait or braid cocoanut-leaves. தென்னங்கீற்று, s.
