A secret place in the waistcloth, உள்மடி. அடிமடை, s. The commencement of a water channel, முதல்மடை. அடிமண், s. The earth adhering to one's feet, taken for enchantments against him (வசியம்) or for witchcraft, காலிலொட்டியமண். அடிமயக்கு, s. Transposing the lines of a verse without destroying the sense, அடிமாற்றுகை. 2. A verse so formed, ஓர்பா, as, அங்கண்மதியமரவின்வாய்ப்பட்டென்ப, பூசல்வாயாப்புலம்புமனைகலங்கி. அடிமறிமண்டிலவாசிரியப்பா, s. One of the four kinds of ஆசிரியம், the lines of which are interchangeable at pleasure, the meaning remaining the same, ஓர்வகையாசிரியப்பா. அடிமறிமாற்றுப்பொருள்கோள், s. Construction in which the lines of a stanza are interchangeable, the harmony and meaning remaining the same, or the harmony only slightly affected. One of the forty-three kinds of rhyme in which the first word of a line has a meaning opposite to that of the next, செய்யுட்டொடை யிலொன்று, as, இருள்பரந்தன்னமாநீர்மருங்கின், நிலவுகுவித்தன்னவெண்மணலொருசிறை, where darkness and moonlight are opposite. அடிமோனைத்தொடை, s. One of the forty-three kinds of rhyme in which each line begins with the same letter, ஓர் வகை மோனைத்தொடை. அடியடியாக, adv. [prov.] In succession, as the descent of title, &c., தலைமுறை தலைமுறையாக. அடியந்தாதி, s. A repetition in verse. See அந்தாதி. அடியளபெடை, s. Prolonging the sounds of long vowels at the beginning of every line, தொடைவிகற்பத்தொன்று. அடியறுக்கி, s. A flat piece of wood by which the potter marks his work and cuts it from the wheel below, மட்கலமறுக்குங்கருவி. அடியனாதி, s. Time immemorial, antiquity, தொன்றுதொட்டுள்ளகாலம். அடியார், s. [sing. அடியான்--அடி யாள்.] Slaves, servants as applied to devotees in reference to their deity, and used by persons of themselves in addressing superiors, to show respect, obedience or submission, தொண்டர். அடியிட, inf. To set on foot, commence an undertaking, a law suit, &c., தொடங்க. 2. To make a beginning in braiding--as the bottom of a basket, the first end of a mat, &c., பாய்முதலியவை முடைதற்கு அடியிட. அடியுரம், s. [prov.] Ancestral property, original stock. 2. Crop of a past year reserved for the sustenance of the following. 3. Manure put on the soil round a tree, &c., எரு. 4. To be destroyed utterly, extirpated. அடியோட்டி, s. A triangular instrument with spikes, which, however placed, has one spike upward to pierce the feet of men or cattle; used in war, &c., a caltrop. அடிவயிறு, s. The lower part of the belly, the abdomen, கீழ்வயிறு. அடிவரலாறு, s. Source, principle, cause, காரணம். 2. Beginning, origin, bottom of a thing, தொடக்கம். 3. If any one have the possession of the house of another for ten years, and this be generally known, the house becomes his. அனுபவிப்பு, v. noun. Enjoying, suffering, experiencing. அனுபாகம், s. (Anat.) Maxillary portion; [ex ஹநு, jaw.] அனுபானம், s. A fluid vehicle in medicine, drink taken with or after medicine. 2. An ingredient to take with, or after medicines, as sugar, &c. Wils. p. 33. Some reckon the following four kinds; viz.: 1. தன்பொருட் டனுமானம். 2. பிறர்பொருட்டனுமானம். 3. அன் னுவயவனுமானம். 4. வெதிரேகவனுமானம். In அளவை the four are; 1. ஏதுவனுமானம், inference of an existing cause from sight of the effect, as of fire from the appearance of smoke. 2. பொதுவனுமானம், inference of the existence of a thing or reality of a thing by the presence of another, which is not wholly conclusive but probable and consistent. 3. எச்சவனு மானம், inference of a past cause from a present effect--as fishes in the rivers show that torrents have fallen on the mountains. 4. முதலனுமானம், inference of a future effect from a present cause-as that rainy clouds will bring rain. Another. 1. பூர்வக்காட்சி, inference of a thing from previous knowledge of its properties--as when we see a flower, we identify it from its smell. 2. அனுமானவ னுமானம், inference from an inference--as when we infer that a man is learned from his mode of treating a subject. 3. ஆகமவனுமானம், inference from the rules of Agamas--as the punishment is owing to former deeds. 2. To invoke the deity, &c., to adjure a spirit to take temporary possession of a person, in order to utter an oracle, வேண்டியழைக்க. 3. To lead, conduct, &c., கூட்டிப்போக. 4. āṟu (p. 43) s. A river, natural current, brook, channel or passage through shallows, a canal, நதி. (c.) 2. (p.) Way, road, path, mode, manner, rule, method, order, custom, circumstance, வழி. In this sense, in verse, the று, is sometimes omitted. 3. Morality, virtue, good conduct, way in a moral sense, the good or right way, ஒழுக்கம. சுரருலகெய்துமாறளித்தான. He endowed him with the bliss of the gods, or literally, granted that he should attain to the world of the gods. யான்வந்தவாசென்றியம்புதி Go and tell that I am come--ஆ for ஆறு. என்றவாறு. A form added to explanations of grammatical rules, &c., implying such is the meaning. ஆறலைக்க, inf. To rob in the highway, infest the road, வழிப்பறிக்க. (p.) ஆறலை--ஆறலைப்பு, v. noun. Highway-robbery, street-robbery, வழிப்பறி க்கை. ஆறலைக்கள்வருமளியராயினார். Even the highway-robbers have proved friends. (நடை.) ஆறாடி, s. A lascivious, idle fellow, a vagabond, a pest. 2. One not to be relied on, a changeling, man without character. ஆறுகட்ட, inf. To construct a dam across a river, construct the banks of a river. ஆறுகாட்டி, s. A guide, pilot, வழிகாட்டி. ஆறை--ஆற்றூர், s. The name of a town in the Carnatic. (p.) ஆறைநகர்காவலன், s. The king of that town. ஆற்றங்கரை, s. The bank of a river, shore of a river. ஆற்றிடைக்குறை, s. Blank, or dried spots in a river, an inlet, ait, அரங் கம்; [ex இடை, intermediate, et குறை, wanting.] ஆற்றிடைப்பட, inf. To be in the way, வழியிலிருக்க. 2. To meet in the way, வழியெதிர்ப்பட. (p.) ஆற்றுக்காலாட்டியர், s. Agricultural women of low caste, உழத்தியர். (p.) ஆற்றுக்கால், s. A dike, channel for conveying water to the fields, ஆற்று வாய்க்கால். ஆற்றுச்சுழி, s. Colocynth, பேய்க்கொம்மட்டி, Citrullus colocynthis, L. ஆற்றுநீர்ப்பொருள்கோள், s. The natural construction of a sentence. See பொருள்கோள். ஆற்றுநெட்டி, s. The நீர்ச்சுண்டி, a water-plant, Aeschynomene paludosa. ஆற்றுப்பச்சை, s. A curious, greenstone--one of the one-hundred-andtwenty kinds of minerals--as நாகப்பச்சை. ஆற்றுப்படுத்த, inf. To lead, direct or conduct a person into the right way, வழிப்படுத்த. 2. To give advice, to conduct into the path of virtue, நன் மார்க்கத்திலுட்படுத்த. (p.) ஆற்றுப்படை, v. noun. The act of conducting, directing, &c., either physically or morally. 2. A poem, the object of which is to conduct one to a superior. விறலியாற்றுப்படை, s. A songstress directing another to a benevolent man. பாணராற்றுப்படை, s. A singer directing another to a patron. கூத்தராற்றுப்படை, s. An actor on the stage directing another to a generous man. பொருநராற்றுப்படை, s. A buffoon directing another to a prince. ஆற்றுப்பாசி, s. A water-plant, ஓர்பூடு, Caulinia indica, L. ஆற்றுப்பித்தல்--ஆற்றோரம், s. Side or bank of a river. ஆற்றுப்பூவரசு, s. A tree, ஓர்மரம், Trewia nudiflora, L. ஆற்றுப்பெருக்கு, s. A swelling of a river. ஆற்றுமடை, s. The channel or bed of a river, ஆற்றுக்காலின்மடை. ஆற்றுமரி, s. A shrub, நீருமரி. ஆற்றுமல்லிகை, s. A species of the Arabian Jasmin, ஓர்மல்லிகை, Jasminum sambac. ஆற்றுமுகத்துவாரம், s. The mouth of a river. ஆற்றுமுள்ளி, s. A thorny plant growing by the river, ஓர்பூடு, Dilivaria ilicifolia. ஆற்றுமேலழகி, s. A plant, ஓர்பூடு, Celsia coromandeliana, L. ஆற்றுவாளை, s. A river-fish. See வாளை. ஆற்றெதிர்ப்பட, inf. To meet on the road. ஆற்றொழுக்கு, v. noun. The flowing of a river, stream, current, ஆற்றுநீரோ ட்டம். 2. Rules following each other in regular and natural order, (lit.) the flowing of a river--one of the four aspects of a grammatical rule. See சூத்திர நிலை. தீயாறுடையான், s. An immoral man. நல்லாறுடையான், s. A moral person, one whose conduct is agreeable to rule. சிற்றாறு, s. A rivulet, a brook. 66)

intiriyam (p. 46) s. [contracted into இந்தியம்.] An organ of sense, or organ of the body, பொறி; [ex இந்திர, the soul or self, or what is with difficulty restrained by the soul.] There are three kinds of இந்திரியம், or sensual organs; viz.: those of perception, those of action and the intellectual organs. Wils. p. 133. INDRYA. I. ஞானேந்திரியம், the organs of sense or perception are five; viz.: 1. சக்கு, சட்சு or கண், the eye, the organ of sight having உருவம் or visible forms as its object. 2. சோத்திரம் or செவி, the ear, the organ of hearing, having சத்தம், (sound) as its object. 3. ஆக்கிராணம் or மூக்கு, the nose, the organ of smelling, having கந்தம், (odors) as its object. 4. சிங்குவை or நா, the tongue, the organ of tasting, having இரசம், (flavors) as its object. 5. தொக்கு or துவக்கு or உடம்பு, the surface of the body, the organ of feeling, having பரிசம், (touch or contact) as its object. II. கன்மேந்திரியம், or organs of actions are five; viz.: 1. வாக்கு, the mouth or organ of speech. 2. பாதம், the feet. 3. பாணி, the hands. 4. பாயுரு, the anus. 5. உபஸ்தம், the genitals. III. அந்தக்கரணம் or அந்தரிந்திரியம், the intellectual powers are four; viz.: 1. மனம், the organ of thought or perception, emotion. 2. புத்தி, understanding, conception, reason, intellect--the organs of examination, investigation, reflection, comparison, device, experiment. 3. ஆங்காரம், emotion, self-importance, inflation, presumption, energy, impulse, the organ of excitement, resolution, effort, &c. 4. சித்தம், volition, will, purpose, determination, that power of the mind which leads to the accomplishment of objects. 2. The sperm, seed of men, விந்து. இந்திரியகோசரம், s. Perceptibleness, capability of being determined by the senses, இந்திரியத்துக்குவிஷயமாகுகை. Wils. p. 132. INDRYAGOCHARA. இந்திரியக்காட்சி--இந்திரியப்பிரத் தியட்சம், s. Evidence of the senses. இந்திரியத்துவாரம், s. The inlets or avenues of the senses--as means of perception. இந்திரியநிக்கிரகம், s. The subjugation of the passions, இந்திரியமடக்குகை. இந்திரியநுகர்ச்சி, s. Enjoyment of sense, இந்திரியானுபவம். இந்திரியாசங்கம், s. irṇṭu (p. 49) s. and adj. Two, இரண்டா மெண்.-- As an adjective prefix, it often becomes இரு and ஈர், double, இரட்டிப்பான-as இருநிறம், two colors, a double color; ஈர லகு, two syllables. See அலகு. இரண்டிலொன்றுசொல்லு. Say either this or that. நாடிரண்டுபட்டது. The country is divided into two factions. இரட்ட, inf. To double, repeat a motion, sound, action, &c., to reiterate. See இரட்டிக்க. இரட்டாங்காலி, s. [prov. prop. இரட்டைமரம்.] A double tree--especially of the palmyra species. இரட்டி, s. Double quantity, twice as much, இருபங்கு. அதற்கிரட்டிதருவேன். I will give double the quantity. பத்திரட்டி, s. Twice ten. இரட்டிக்க, inf. To double, repeat, reiterate, இரட்ட. 2. (c.) To return --as a disease, வியாதிமக்களிக்க. 3. To plough the second time, always crosswise, இரண்டாமுறையுழ. 4. To differ from, be discrepant, &c., வேறுபட. 5. To disagree--as different kinds of food eaten at once, to be indigested, போசனம் ஒவ்வா திருக்க. இந்தச்சாட்சியந்தச்சாட்சிக்கிரட்டிக்கிறது. This evidence differs from the other. மகரமிரட்டித்தது. The consonant ம், is doubled. நோயிரட்டிக்கின்றது. The pain is double what it was. 2. The disease has returned. இரட்டித்தசெலவு, s. Double expense. இரட்டித்துச்சொல்ல, inf. To repeat, say a thing a second time. 2. To make a discrepant statement, or a statement different from that of another. உழவிரட்டிக்க, inf. To plough the second time. இரட்டிப்பு, s. Two-fold, twice as much, a double quantity. 2. v. noun. Doubling, making two-fold. இரட்டு, s. Two-fold, இருமடங் கு. (p.) 2. (c.) Double-threaded cloth, either coarse or fine, sack-cloth, ஓர்வ கைச்சீலை. இரட்டுப்பை, s. A sack made of coarse cloth. இரட்டுறமொழிய, inf. To state a rule so that it may comprise another, the one plainly apparent, the other to be made out by study; or the use of terms of double meaning either of which serves to make good sense, though the ideas will be wholly different; or the use of terms by which one thing is employed and another implied. See உத்தி. (p.) இரட்டை, s. Two things naturally conjoined--as a double fruit, leaf, &c.; twins, two things alike, இரண்டொன் றானது. 2. (p.) Gemini in the zodiac, two females, மிதுனராசி. 3. Even, even numbers--opposed to ஒற்றை, இரட்டையெண்-as 6, 8, 24, &c. 4. A couple, tow, சேரடு. 5. A female songster, பாடுவிச்சி. ஒற்றையிரட்டைபிடித்தல். A kind of play, playing at odd and even. இரட்டைக்கிளவி, s. Double words imitating certain sounds, ஒலிக்கு றிப்பில்வருமிரட்டைமொழி--as சளசளவெனமழை த்தாரைகான்றன. (The clouds) poured a shower of rain, with a murmuring sound. (இராமா.) (p.) இரட்டைச்சுழி, s. The symbol ை of the vowel ஐ. 2. Two curls in horses, cattle, &c.--as இருசுழி. இரட்டைத்தொடை, s. One of the forty-three kinds of rhyme in which the same word is repeated through the line, (see தொடை)--as ஒக் குமே யொக்குமே யொக்குமே யொக்கும் விளக்கினு ட்சீறெரியொக்குமே யொக்கும் குளக்கொட்டிப்பூவி னிறம், the color of the flower of the water-plant கொட்டி, resembles the delicate flame of the lamp. (p.) இரட்டைப்படவெண்ண, inf. To count even, making a series increasing by a common ratio--as 2, 4, 6, &c. இரட்டைப்பாக்கு, s. An arecanut with two eyes producing, if planted, two trees. இரட்டைப்பிள்ளை, s. Twins. 2. [prov.] A double young areca or cocoa-nut tree. இரட்டைப்புரிக்கயிறு, s. A rope or string made of two strands. இரட்டைமணிமாலை, s. A poem consisting of twenty verses of வெண்பா and கலித்துறை, or நேரிசைவெண்பா and ஆசி ரியவிருத்தம், and composed according to the rules of அந்தாதி. See பிரபந்தம். (p.) இரண்டகம், s. Treachery, perfidy, duplicity, dissimulation, double-dealing, துரோகம். (c.) இரண்டகம்நினைக்க, inf. To frame a treacherous design. இரண்டகம்பண்ண, inf. To betray, act treacherously, perfidiously. இரண்டகவாதி, s. A treacherous person, an insincere friend, துரோகி. இரண்டன்மை, s. Sameness, (lit.) being not two--as அத்துவைதம், which see. இரண்டாந்தரம், s. Secondary kind or class--as of cloth, tobacco, &c. 2. The second time. இரண்டாம்பட்சம், s. Second or secondary class, kind, &c., not the most approved. இரண்டாம்பாட்டன், s. [vul.] The dusk of the evening, used for an inauspicious or untimely season, &c. இரண்டுங்கெட்டவன், s. An indifferent man, neither good nor bad. இரண்டுசொல்ல, inf. To evade, refuse, give an indirect or evasive answer. இரண்டுசெய்ய, inf. To act perfidiously. 2. To act against one's command, to behave disobediently. இரண்டுநினைக்க, inf. To be hypocritical, to meditate treachery under a show of honesty. இரண்டுபட, inf. To vary from, differ in the issue or event, disagree, dissent, become opposed, வேறுபட. 2. I am like an ant between two fires; i. e. I am in straits. இருதலைப்பட்சி, s. A kind of bird fabled to have two heads. இருதலைமணியன், s. A snake said to have two heads--one at each end. இருதாரைக்கத்தி, s. Two-edged sword or knife. இருதிணை, s. The two classes உயர்திணை and அஃறிணை into which Tamil nouns are divided. (See திணை.) 2. Omission of ஆகிய or ஆய where two nouns are used in opposition, ஓர்பண்புத் தொகை--as ஆதிபகவன். God the source (of all things.) இருபொருள், s. Learning and riches. See பொருள். (p.) இருமடங்கு, s. As much again, two-fold, இரண்டுபங்கு. இருமடியாகுபெயர், s. An ஆகு பெயர் of the second degree--as கார், black when used to signify a cloud is called ஆகுபெயர்; but when used for the rainy season, it is called இருமடியாகுபெயர். (p.) இருமணம், s. The two states --the present and the future, or this life and that to come--whether as distinct from the body or as reunited with it in another birth, இம்மைமறுமை. (p.) இருவகைத்தோற்றம், s. The two classes of beings produced--சரம் and அச ரம். See தோற்றம். (p.) இருவாட்டித்தரை, s. [prov.] Land compounded of earth and clay, மணலுங் களிப்புமானநிலம். இருவாய்க்குருவி, s. A kind of bird, Hormbill, buceros, ஓர்குருவி. இருவினை, s. The two classes of moral actions--good and evil, in every one of which there is merit or demerit, leading to future births in which they are to be suffered or enjoyed, while they keep the soul from union with deity, நல்வினை தீவினை. (p.) ஈர். An adjective of இரண்டு, two --used before words beginning with vowels, &c., as இரு is used before consonants--as ஈராயிரம், two-thousand; இருபது, twenty. ஈரசைச்சீர், s. A poetic foot of two அசை, ஆசிரியச்சீர். (p.) ஈரடி, s. Two lines, இணையடி. (p.) 2. That which is bifurcate or two forked, கவர். 3. Doubtfulness, fluctuation, சந்தேகம். ஈரடிப்பயன், s. Ambiguity in conversation, equivocation, double-mindedness, உபயார்த்தம். 2. Double-dealing, acting under-handedly so as to suit both parties, கபடம். 3. Uncertainty, doubtfulness, சந்தேகம். 4. [prov.] Diverseness, disagreement--as of a report or account differently related, விகற்பம்; [ex அடி, step, course, et பயன், meaning.] ஈரடிப்பா, s. A stanza of two lines. (p.) ஈரடிமடக்கு, s. [in poetry.] Repetition of a foot or feet in two lines with different meanings, வந்தசொல்லேயிரண்டடி யினும்வரப்பாடுவது. See மடக்கு. ஈரடிவெண்பா, s. A kind of வெ ண்பா of two lines--the குறள்வெண்பா. (p.) ஈரடுக்கொலி, s. Reiterated words imitative of sound--as நெறுநெறென்றுமுறிந் தது, it broke with a reiterated crash; வண்டில்கடகடென்றோடிற்று, the carriage rolled along with a rattling noise. (p.) ஈரறம், s. The two kinds of அறம், or virtuous actions according to the shasters; viz.: இல்லறம், matrimony and its accompanying household virtues; and துறவறம், the virtues of ascetic practice. (p.) ஈரறிவுயிர், s. Beings that have the sense of feeling and tasting--as snails, shells, &c., பரிசமுஞ்சுவையுமறியும்நந்துமுதலிய செந்து. (p.) ஈராசிடைவெண்பா, s. A species of வெண்பா, with two ஆசு affixed to the end of the third foot of the second line. (p.) ஈராடி--ஈராட்டி, s. [prov.] A changeable state of the wind and weather, previous to the change of monsoon, indicative of rain. 2. A calm, a lull, the failing of the wind at this season, காற்றினமைவு. 3. Fickleness, hesitation, fluctuation of mind, நிலையின்மை. இக்காரியத்திலென்மனமீராடிப்படுகின்றது. In this affair my mind wavers. ஈராட்டி, s. [prov.] Two wives. ஈரி, s. A play of girls, two stones being taken up from the ground while a third is tossed in the air, ஓர்விளையாட்டு. (c.) ஈரிலைப்பயிர், s. A young shoot when two leaves appear. ஈரிழை, s. Double-thread used in some kinds of cloth--as in muslin. ஈரிழைச்சல்லா, s. A muslin whose warp consists of two untwisted threads. ஈரீற்றா, s. A cow that has had two calves. (p.) ஈருடல், s. [in mythology.] Beings possessing the form, in part, of two bodies--as Vishnu manifested in the form of man and lion, இருதன்மைத்தாயவுடல். (p.) ஈருயிர்க்காரி, s. The two-lived --used of a pregnant female. (c.) ஈரெச்சம், s. See எச்சம். ஈரொட்டு, s. Uncertainty, doubt, crisis, criticalness, state of suspense, conditional bargain. (c.) நோயாளியின்காரியமீரொட்டாயிருக்கின்றது. The case of the patient is doubtful. ஈரொட்டாகச்சொல்ல, inf. To speak doubtfully, uncertainly, ambiguously. ஈரொட்டாகவாங்க, inf. To take things conditionally, that is, if approved; or, as a merchant, to pay for them if sold. 6)

uyrttu (p. 63) கிறேன், உயர்த்தினேன், வேன், உயர்த்த, v. a. To lift up, elevate, raise higher--as a wall in building, a heap, &c., உயரச்செய்ய. 2. To raise (the price), increase (expenditure), அதிகப்படுத்த. 3. To promote to higher office, to make great, to exalt, ennoble, dignify, aggrandize, மேலாக்க. 4. To extol, magnify, praise, கனப்படுத்த. 5. To receive one with honors, show respect, treat in a dignified manner, உபசரிக்க. 6. To raise the voice in singing, speaking, &c., to lift up the heart, affections, thoughts, &c., எழுப்ப. 7. To raise an arm, a leg, a weapon, &c., to raise the head above water, raise the head when in a lying posture, மேலெடுக்க. 8. Instances of உயர்த் தல், in the past are found in verse, but in the present and future it seems to be seldom or never found. நரகந்தன்படத்தையுயர்த்திக்காட்டும். The cobra raises its hood and exhibits it. சேவலையுயரியதேவநாயகன். The leader of the gods (skanda) who has exalted the cock as his banner. வலனுயர்த்தவண்ணலஞ்சேல். uy (p. 63) கிறேன், ந்தேன், வேன், ய, v. n. To live as man, beast, or vegetables; to subsist, survive, revive or flourish--as trees, plants, &c., சீவிக்க. 2. (p.) To obtain benefits, privileges, &c.; to be blessed, to be happy, to prosper, flourish, to be relieved from distress, oppression, suffering, &c., உயிர்வாழ. 3. To obtain heavenly bliss, to gain exemption from transmigration, ஈடேற. 4. To escape from dangers, wild beasts, &c., to flee from, தப்ப. உய்கதியால்--உய்தடி, s. A live hedge-stick. உய்தவம், s. Austerities leading to bliss. உய்பயிர், s. Thriving crops, trees, &c. 2. (fig.) A person in thriving circumstances. உய்வனவு, v. noun. [prov.] Flourishing or reviving as a tree, செழிப்பு. 2. Living, subsistence, maintenance, சீவனம். 3. s. Means of attaining eternal bliss, ஈடேற்றம். This word properly must be உய்வு. உய்விக்க, inf. To save alive, cause to live, prosper, flourish, &c. This is the causative of உய். உய்வு--உய்தி, v. noun. Enjoyment of life, prosperity, felicity, உயிர்வா ழ்வு. 2. Bliss, salvation, ஈடேற்றம். 3. Living, life as spoken auspiciously, உயிர்க்கை. ஒருவன்செய்நன்றிகொன்றார்க்குய்தியில்லெனவ றம்பாடின்றே. The divine laws declare that to the ungrateful there is no happiness here or hereafter. uy (p. 63) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. To put in motion, cause to go, discharge, let go, let fly, send, emit, cast, throw, செலுத்த. 2. To ride, drive a carriage, &c., வாகனமூர. 3. To effect, accomplish, bring about, collect, gather together, காரியத்தைமுடிக்க. 4. To carry on, conduct literally, or morally, lead an army, &c., to manage, guide, direct, influence, operate, நடத்த. 5. To place, put in, shoot in, throw or cast in, plunge into, அமிழ்த்த. 6. To cause to arrive at, சேர்க்க. 7. To place, வைக்க. 8. To enjoy, experience, அனுபவிக்க. (p.) (குறள்.) உய்த்துச்சொரியினும்போகாதம. That which is apportioned by fate, though rejected, will not leave. (p.) (குறள்.) காதலகாதலறியாமையுய்க்கிற்பின். If (a king) enjoy the objects of his desire, (his foes) being unacquainted with those desires-(குறள்.) உய்த்துணர, inf. To discern, to distinguish, exercise thought, &c., ஆ ராய்ந்தறிய. உய்த்துணரவைப்பு, s. The use of such terms, descriptions, or definitions in a written work, as may require the exercise of thought, reference to other parts, &c., in order to comprehend them, ஆராய்ந்தறியவைக்கை--one of the thirty-two உத்தி in நன்னூல். உய்த்தலில்பொருண்மை, s. Poetry composed in such terms only as are necessary to express the author's meaning, கருதியபொருள்தோன்றப்பாடப்படுவது. உய்ப்பு, v. noun.
