Ascribing things to unnatural places--as pearls to the mountain, gold to the sea, &c. திணைமயக்கு. இடமற்றபிள்ளை, s. A child without fortune. இடமானம், s. A spacious place. 2. An honorable place, (Old Dic.) இடமானமானவீடு, s. A spacious house. இடம்பாடு, s. Width, spaciousness, extensiveness, விசாலம். 2. Wealth, prosperity, greatness, affluence, செல்வம். இடம்பார்க்க, inf. To seek or find a place, a situation, an opportunity. இடம்புரி, s. A conch, a species of shell from which bangles, or handrings are cut, சங்கு. 2. A left hand shell, இடம்புரிச்சங்கு. 3. A species of medicinal plant forming a drug, ஓர்பூடு. 4. A rope twisted to the left, இடப்பக்க மாகமுறுக்கியகயிறு. இடவகை, s. A house, வீடு. (சது.) 2. Local affinity. இடவழு, s. Seven is regarded as the most lucky number, after which five and the other odd numbers have precedence. 8. Lowness in state or rank, inferiority, pitiableness, or despicableness, எளிமை. 9. Easiness of accomplishment, acquisition, access, &c.; what is not difficult, இலேசு. 1. A kind of rape, the plant or seed, எள்ளு. (p.) எண்ணுக்குள்ளடங்காதது. That which is innumerable. 2. That which is incomprehensible. எண்ணுமெழுத்துங்கண்ணெனத்தகும். Arithmetic and grammar may be regarded as eyes. எண்ணெழுத்திகழேல். Think not lightly of numbers and letters, do not neglect reading and cyphering. எண்பொருளவாகச்செலச்சொல்லி. Communicating your thoughts in language easy to be understood-எண்சாத்திரம், s. Astronomers, கணிதர். ஏரணங்காணென்பரெண்ணர். Astronomers will call this a treatise of arithmetic. (கோவை.) எண்ணிட, inf. To count, reckon, calculate. எண்ணிடஇடமொன்றியின்றியெங்கணும்நிறைந்த தன்றே. kuntu (p. 121) s. A hop, a tip-toe, [vulgarly, கிந்து.] 2. [prov.] Fibres in fruits--as in the mango and palmyra; also, in roots, சக்கை. Probably a change of கூந்தல். See under the verb குந்து. அவர்களிலொருகுந்துங்கூருமில்லாமற்போய்விட்டது, There is not one of the family left--not even a fibre. குந்துகாலி, s. A hobbling or limping female. குந்துத்தடி, s. [prov.] A stick with several prongs, or a similar contrivance to take out the fibre from palmyra pulp. 25)

nil (p. 277) நிற்கிறேன், நின்றேன், நிற்பேன், நிற்க, v. n. To stand, செங்குத்தாய்நிற்க. 2. To stand still; to stop, halt, tarry, தரிக்க. 3. To abide, endure, continue, தங்க. 4. To cease, be discontinued, stopped, suspended, ஒழிய. 5. To be steadfast, to preserve, persist in a course of conduct, நிலைநிற்க. 6. To remain, be left--as matter in a boil, as disease, &c., to be left--as matter in a boil, as disease, &c., to be left due, நிலுவைநிற்க 7. To be, be in, have a lodging, or residence; to exercise functions, as the senses through their appropriate organs; to be situated as a planet; continue, as any of the four astrological times, viz: திதி, யோ கம், கரணம்,நட்சத்திரம், தத்தந்தானத்திருக்க. 8. The disease will yield to this medicine. பொழுதுநிற்கவா. Come while the sun lasts. அவனுக்குபாடம்நிற்கிறது. The lesson is well learnt by him. 2. He has a good memory. செல்வம்நில்லாது.
