iḷku (p. 55) கிறது, இளகினது, ம், இளக, v. n. [prov.] To relax, abate, become pliable, flexible, to lessen in intensity or severity--as wind, rain, sun-shine, fever, &c., தணிய. 2. To become tender, indulgent, mild, yielding, placable, to relax in ardor, application, &c., நெகிழ. 3. To grow moist --as goods, &c. in rainy weather, to soften--as heated iron or other metals, to dissolve a little, be reduced in hardness, &c., to deliquesce, soak through--as tiles, கரைய. 4. To become relaxed--as a bowstring, to become loose--as screws, &c., தளர. இளகாதவன், s. A hard-hearted, inexorable person. இளகிக்காண, inf. To become limber, soft, loose, pliant, lubricous, &c., நெகிழ. 2. To appear less strict, rigid, &c.--as the mind; to become less tense. இளகினபொன், s. Soft or pure gold that easily melts, &c., the prefix is alike applicable to other metals. இளகினமனசு, s. A feeling, kind heart. 49)

nẕuvu (p. 271) கிறேன், நழுவினேன், வேன், நழுவ, v. n. to slip cut of the hand, or from under the foot--as an oily or lubricous thing; to slip down, fall off, as a garment, நழுவ. 2. To come off, as hair, விழ. 3. To steal or skulk away; to elude, to escape, விலக. 4. (fig.) To evade, to shift, to give an indirect answer, to shuffle off, தப்பித்துக்கொள்ள. (c.) நழுவல், v. noun. A slipping, evading, &c., as the verb. காரியத்தைநழுவலிலேவிடாதே. Don't let the affair lie still. நழுவலானபேச்சு, s. Shuffling talk. நழுவி, appel. n. [prov.] One who gives an indirect answer, பிடிகொடாதவன். நழுவுவேன். I will escape--slip away. 28)

noḷnoḷ (p. 283) --நொளுநொளு, க்கிற து, த்தது, க்கும், க்க, v. n. [also நளுநொளு.] To be soft, slippery, as a snake, a leeth, a ripe fruit, &c., மிருதுவாக. 2. To be mashy, குழைய. (c.) நொளுநொளுத்தவாழைப்பழம். A plantain over-ripe. பாம்புநொளுநொளென்றிருக்கிறது. The snake is very soft and slippery. நொளுநொளுத்தபேச்சு. Wavering speech, shuffling talk. நொளுநொளெனல், v. noun. Being soft, lubricous, குழகுழவெனல். 29)
