A mental appropriation or the assignment of various parts of the body to tutelary divinities, by touching the several parts, and applying sacred ashes, accompanied with incantations, according to the usual mode of Hindu worship; ex. நியாஸ, arrangement. (p.) அங்கபடி--அங்கவடி, s. Stirrup, குதிரையங்கபடி. (c.) அங்கப்பிரதக்கணம்--அங்கப்பிரதட் சிணம், s. A mode of worship by rolling round a temple after a car, &c., turning to the right, in performance of a vow, &c.; (c.) ex பிர, before, et தட்சிணம், right. அங்கப்பிராயச்சித்தம், s. Expiation for bodily impurity, especially the oblation offered by the heir at the first funeral obsequies to remove the impurity contracted during the period of mourning. (c.) அங்கமாலை, s. A பிரபந்தம் or poem describing the principal members of the body, such as the eye, face, breasts, &c., in the female, and shoulders, arms, breast, &c., in the male. The order of description must be from the feet to the hair of the head, or from the head to the feet. (p.) அங்கயோகம், s. The eight qualities of a Yogi. See யோகம். (p.) அங்கரக்கா, s. To settle, subside, be laid--as dust, அமைய. 5. To be embodied, incorporated, திரள. 6. To be reduced low--as the system when near death, &c., சாக, ஒடுங்க. அடங்கல், s. aḷai (p. 33) கிறேன், ந்தேன், வேன், ய, v. a. To mix up, mingle, macerate as food, paste, &c., with the fingers or hands, கலக்க. 2. (p.) To handle, finger, (as a boil, &c., in applying medicines, &c.,) வருட. 3. To mingle dust as children in play, handle any thing dirty, dirty one's self, பூசிக்கொள்ள. 4. (c.) aẕukku (p. 33) s. Filth, impurity, stain, taint, pollution, moral defilement, மாசு. 2. Envy, பொறாமை. 3. Excrement. மலம். 4. A tortoise, ஆமை, change of அழுங்கு. தலையழுக்காயிருக்கிறாள். She has an unclean head, i. e. she has her menses. அழுக்ககற்றி, s. Lie or lixivium. அழுக்கடைய, inf. To grow unclean, dirty. அழுக்கணவன், s. A small insect, blight, &c. about plants, leaves, &c., ஓர்புழு; [ex அண், adhering, et அன், termination.] அழுக்கறுக்க, inf. To be envious, to show envy, பொறாமைகொள்ள. (குறள்.) அழுக்காமை, s. A species of tortoise whose shell is used for the handle of penknives, &c., ஓராமை. அழுக்கானமனம், s. An envious mind. அழுக்கின்மை, s. Purity, immaculateness, spotlessness. 2)

ācu (p. 37) s. Fault, defect, blemish, stain, குற்றம். 2. A trifle, any thing small or mean, அற்பம். 3. Armor, coat of mail, கவசம். 4. One or two அசை affixed to the penultimate foot of the second line of an ஆசிடைவெண்பா, நேரிசைவெண்பாவிற்றனிச் சொற்குமுன் கூட்டப்படுமசை. 5. A small tube through which the yarn is conducted from the spindle of a spinning wheel to a machine, நூலிழைக்குங்கருவிகளிலொன்று. 6. A small particle used in soldering metals, பற்றாசு. 7. A mark or butt, இலக்கு. (c.) 8. A kind of arsenic, ஓர்விதபாஷாணம். (p.) ஆசிட, inf. [in poetry.] To affix either one or two syllables to the third foot of the second line of an ஆசிடைவெ ண்பா. 2. To cement the particles of gold, &c. ஆசிடையிட்டெதுகை--ஆசெது கை, s. The consonance of the second and third letters in each line of a stanza, with this license, that one of the four consonants ய், ர், ல், ழ், inserted after the first letter of the first line, is omitted after the first letter of the second line, and vice versa. ஓரெதுகை--as வாய்ந்தமின்னை மடந்தையராக்கிவிண் போந்திடாமலன்றோ, &c. ஆசிடைவெண்பா, s. A வெண்பா of four lines in general, to the penultimate foot of the second line of which ஆசு is affixed, ஆசிடையிட்டவெண்பா. ஆசுமணை, s.
