[in anat.] The joining of bones, articulation, joint, எலும்பின்பொருத்து. 6. [in wrestling.] Locking or entangling an antagonist's arms or legs, so as to deprive him of power, மல்லுக்கட்டு. 7. Tightness, as of a bow-string, இறுக்கம். 8. Shackles, manacles, fetters, விலங்கு. 9. See பூட்டு, v. பூட்டுந்திறப்பும்போல. As lock and key; secure, or adapted one to the other. பூட்டங்கம்--பூட்டாங்கம், s. Entrapping, inveigling, ensnaring. பூட்டாங்கயிறு, s. [sometimes பூட்டங்க யிறு, பூட்டுகயிறு.] A rope by which the bullock is fastened to the yoke, நுகக் கயிறு. பூட்டுத்தைக்க, inf. To fasten a lock. 2. [fig.] to take effect, as a plot. பூட்டுப்போட, inf.
