[in mythol.] Cauda draconis (dragon's tail) or the red serpent into which the trunk of the Asura Sainhikeya, severed from the head (Rahu) by Vishnu, at the churning of the sea of milk, was changed; and which, with Caput draconis, is said to swallow the sun and moon for betraying them.
