aẕku (p. 31) s. Beauty, comeliness, handsomeness, elegance, propriety, fineness, யௌவனம். (c.) 2. The beauties or graces of language or style, நஙலின்பத்தழகு. These as given in the பாயிரம் of நன்னூல், are ten; viz.: 1. சுருங்கச்சொல்லல், speaking concisely. 2. விளங்கவைத்தல், treating a subject clearly and plainly. 3. நவின்றோர்க் கினிமை, acceptableness to the educated. 4. நன்மொழிபுணர்த்தல், using elegant words, suitable expressions. 5. ஓசையுடைமை, being pleasant to the ear with a good rhythm and cadence. 6. ஆழமுடைத்தாதல், being comprehensive, profound. 7. முறையின்வைப்பு, systematic arrangement, method. 8. உலக மலையாமை, being without obscurity or contrariety. 9. விழுமியதுபயத்தல், giving a good sense, as allegorical, &c. 1. விளங்குதார ணத்ததாகுதல், having common examples of as to be understood by all. 3. One of the eight வனப்பு, in composition, the proper choice of words. (See வனப்பு.) 4. Jaggary, coarse sugar சருக்கரை. (M. Dic.) (p.) அழகன், s. [fem. அழகி.] A handsome man. 2. [Per antonomasia.] The god Vishnu, honorifically, அழகர். அழகர்மலை, s. One of the hundred and eight places sacred to Vishnu. 2. One of the six places sacred to Subramania. அழகாரம், s. Brilliancy of expression, சித்திரமாகப்பேசுகை. 2. Mere, empty compliment, வீண்புகழ்ச்சியாகப்பே சுகை. (p.) அழகுகாட்ட, inf. To display one's beauty, ornaments, make a parade of dress, &c., 2. kurngku (p. 124) s. [adjectively குரக்கு, in poetry.] A monkey, வானரம். 2. A climbing plant, முசுமுசுக்கை. 3. An animal in general--as குரங்கம், குராகம். குரங்கின்கைப்பூமாலை. A flower-garland in the hands of a monkey; i. e. a thing of value with one who knows not its use. குரங்குக்குந்தன்குட்டிபொன்குட்டி. Even to a monkey her young is as gold; i. e. one thinks highly of his own. குரங்குதன்குட்டியின்கையைக்கொண்டுபதம்பார்க்கி றதுபோலப்பார்க்கிறான். He tests it by another, as a monkey does a new object by the hand of her young. குரங்குமனம், s. A monkey-mind, retaining its grasp, notions, &c., without inquiry, or discrimination. குரக்குமுகம்--குரங்குமுகம்--குரங்கு மூஞ்சி, s. A monkey face. குரக்குவலி--கொறுக்குவலி, s. A kind of disease with which monkeys are commonly said to be affected. குரங்காட்டம், s. Apishness; apish tricks, antics, &c. 2. v. noun. Harassing, annoying, treating one as a mere monkey. குரங்காட்டமாட--குரங்காட்டங்கொள் ள--குரங்காட்டம்பண்ண, inf. To annoy, to treat one as a monkey. குரங்குகடியன், s. [prov.] A cocoanut, injured at the top, as if by a monkey, squirrel, &c., பழுதுற்றதேங்காய். குரங்குச்சம்பந்தம், s. The mode of a monkey's hold, grasp, &c., to which the hold of the soul on God is sometimes compared.--Note. The hold of a God on a soul is compared to that of a cat on its young. குரங்குச்சேட்டை--குரங்குச்சேஷ்டை, s. Mean, monkeyish tricks--as scratching and eyeing carefully; apish imitation. குரங்குச்சேட்டைபண்ண, inf. To play apish tricks; to act meanly; to mimic, in a low manner. குரங்குப்பிடி, s. A firm grasp--as that of a monkey. 2. Dogmatism in opinion, பிடிவாதம். 3. Urgency, importunity. குரங்குவலி, s. Numbness and pain in the limbs with shivering; a spasmodic affection, incident to puerperal women, ஓர்நோய். 26)

Flock, herd, swarm, shoal, ஆடுமாடுமுதலியவ ற்றின்கூட்டம். 4. (Sans. Ghusha.) Wit, ingenuity; witty expressions, fanciful or shrewd intimations, விரகு. --Note. nṭṭṇai (p. 268) s. Abuse of things, waste, recklessness, rashness, எண்ணாமை. 2. The mimic gestures of one in a drama; mockery. ஆகடியம். 3. Fastidiousness, squeamishness, வெறுப்பு. 4. neḷi (p. 281) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. n. and v. a. To cause to bend, incline, twist, வளைக்க. 2. To bend, wriggle or distort the body in walking, commonly in affectation, அசைக்க. 3. To make proud, disdainful, affected gestures, in contempt of one; to mimic, நிமிர்ந்துநடக்க. 4. To be insolent, கர்வங்காட்ட. (c.) எழுத்தைநெளித்தெழுதுகிறான்.
