It is also joined to nouns, forming compound verbs as கடன்பட, கட்டிபட, கண் பட, சினைப்பட, சேறுபட, நஷ்டப்பட, தனிப்பட, பொ துப்பட, &c., which see. உடுத்துப்படுத்துவந்தார். He dressed himself and came. என்மேல்வெயில்படுகிறது. The sun strikes me. கொஞ்சம்பட்டது. It injured slightly. மீன்படவில்லை. No fish are caught. ரகாரம்படஉச்சரி. pari (p. 298) [a Sans, particle.] A sign of intenseness, ubiquity, the highest degree, &c. It is prefixed to Sanscrit but not to Tamil words, as in the following compounds. W. p. 57.
