Property devoted or entailed in perpetuity to a temple or other charity, நிலையான ஆஸ்தி. 2. God, கடவுள். அழியாமை, neg. v. noun. Incorruption, immortality, imperishableness, கெடாமை. அழிவழக்கு, s. An unjust lawsuit, a groundless prosecution, a frivolous or groundless defence, a lost lawsuit, அநி யாயவழக்கு. கற்பழியாதபெண், s. A pure virgin. அழிகை, v. noun. Obstacle, impediment, hinderance, தடை. 4. Means used for counteracting magic, poison, &c. மாற்று. அழிச்சாட்டியம், s. Improper treatment, an unlawful or wicked proceeding. வாங்கின கடனைக்கொடாம லழிச்சாட்டியம் பண் ணிவருகிறான். He gives much trouble by delaying to pay the debt. அழிச்சாட்டியக்காரன், s. A turbulent fellow, a bully. அழிப்பு, v. noun. Destroying, ruining, wasting, consuming in an active sense, அழிக்கை. அழிப்பாளி, s. A spendthrift, squanderer, prodigal, profligate, ஊதாரி. 8)

ācri (p. 36) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. To celebrate, solemnize a day, a festival, &c., observe with due rites or forms, to keep holy, to hallow, consecrate, அனுசரிக்க. 2. āl (p. 43) s. That species of banian tree which casts roots from its branches-deemed sacred to Vishnu, and commonly regarded as the abode of goblins. Its roots form one of the kinds of sacrificial fuel, ஆலமரம், Ficus indica, L. (c.) ஆல்போற்றழைத்து அறுகுபோல்வேரூன்றி மூங்கில் போற்சுற்ற முசியாமல் வாழ்ந்திருப்பீர். May you flourish as a banian tree, put forth roots and spread as the creeping stems of the arugu grass, and prosper being encircled by kinsmen as thickly crowded bamboos. ஆலமர்கடவுள், s. Siva, சிவன். (p.) ஆலம்விழுது, s. The roots growing down from the branches of the banian tree. ஆலின்மேற்புல்லுருவி or புல்லூரி, s. A mistletoe that destroys the tree on which it grows, even the ஆல், which otherwise is never known to die, as it throws down its roots and continues to spread itself. கல்லால்--குறுவால்--சிற்றால், s. iyṟṟu (p. 48) கிறேன், இயற்றினேன், வே ன், இயற்ற, v. n. To do , make, effect, perform, execute, bring about, cause to take place, discharge a duty or obligation, exercise or use an art, செய்ய. 2. To transact, manage affairs, superintend, cause or excite one to do a thing, நடத்த. 3. To destine, appoint, assign, விதிக்க. (p.) இயற்றலுமீட்டலுங்காத்தலும். They appear to be of various descriptions, being either powerful Titans in a preternatural form--as Ravana and others--or mischievous and cruel goblins, demons, vampires or fiends, haunting cemeteries, devouring human beings, &c., அரக்கர். [in rhetoric.] An indirect answer--as when one is asked if he has areca nut, he answers that he has betel, meaning that he has no areca. These modes of answering are of five kinds, விடைப்பொ ருளைத்தருவதாய்வருவது. See விடை. இறைபுரிய, inf. To hold the reins of government, அரசாட்சிசெய்ய. 2. ilakkiṉam (p. 52) s. [in astrology.] The rising of a sign above the horizon, the oblique ascension or the divisions of the equator which rise in succession with each sign in an oblique sphere--also defined as the arc of the equator which passes the meridian in the same time with each sign of the ecliptic, இராசிகளினுதயம். 2. The right ascension of the rising point of the ecliptic at any given time. Wils. p. 714. LUGNA. இலக்கினசடுவருக்கம், s. Co-existing, happening simultaneously. 2. A term in grammar implying co-existence, concomitan cy. உடனிகழ்ச்சிப்பொருள். ஒடுவென்பதுடனிகழ்வைக்காட்டும். The particle ஒடு shows accompaniment. உடனிலைமயக்கம்--உடனிலைமெய் மயக்கம், s. [in orthography.] The combination of two consonants of the same kind--as அக்கம், அச்சம், opp. to வேற்றுநிலை மெய்மயக்கம். உடனுக்குடனே. A symbolic verb used as a noun with meanings similar to those of உரிமை, being peculiar to a person, or thing--as duty, obligation, property, quality, &c., உரியது. 2. s. The duties and obligations of near relations to perform funeral rites, and to show respect to a deceased person, பிரேதத்திற்குரியவர்கள் செய்யுங்கடமை. 2. The duty of a child to support his father in sickness or other extremity, &c., புத்திரன்பிதாவுக்குச்செய்யுங் கடமை. 3. To own the obligations one is under to another, on the ground of consanguinity, friendship, religion, country, &c., and to act accordingly, சுதந்திரங் கொண்டாட. 2. To converse with another on the ties of friendship, consanguinity, &c., common between them either to show that such ties exist, or for social enjoyments, சம்பந்தங்கொண்டாட. உரிமைபேச, inf. To urge one's rights, claims, &c. on the ground of consanguinity, usage, occupation, previous services, acquaintance or otherwise, சுதந்திரங்காட்டிப்பேச. உரிமைப்பங்கு, s. Share of an inheritance, சுதந்திரப்பங்கு. உரிமைப்பாடு, s. Relative authority, obligation, &c., உரியகடமை. உரிமைப்பிள்ளை, s. An adopted child entitled to the property of the adopter, சுவிகாரபுத்திரன். உரிமைப்பெண், s. A female in the proper degree of consanguinity to be taken in marriage, விவாகஞ்செய்வதற் குரித்தானவள். உரிமைமண், s. [prov.] Earth thrown on a corpse at its burial, by the near relatives, பிரேதக்குழியிலுரியவர்கள்போ டுமண். உரிமையாட்சி, s. Possession or right of possession of property devolving on a child, which, had the parents been living, would have belonged to them, சுதந்திரவாட்சி. உரிமையின்மை, s. Want of right or privilege. உரிமையெடுக்க, inf. To take possession, to enjoy or claim one's share of an inheritance, produce, &c. உரிமைவழி, s. Consanguinity, lineage, ancestral connection, சம்பந்தமுறை. 2. Inheritance or right of possession from ancestors, தொன்றுதொட்டுவருஞ்சுதந்தி ரம். உரிமைவிட, inf. To give freedom to, to manumit a slave. சொல்லுரிமை, s. A fine emphatic expression. உரியது, s. That which is proper to, peculiar to, tending to, liable to, exposed to, deserved, deserving, worthy of, appropriate to, obnoxious to, உரித்தா னது. இததற்குரியசொல். This is the appropriate word for it. உரியதண்டனை, s. Condign punishment, deserved chastisement. உரியபொருள், s. The primary meaning of a passage, உரியவர்த்தம். 2. Property in which one has a peculiar right, சுதந்திரமானதிரவியம். உரியர்--உரியார்--உரியோர், s. Proprietors, உடையவர்கள். 2. Heirs, சுதந்திரர். 3. Near or responsible relations, சம்பந்த முடையார். 4. The learned, அறிஞர். அன்பிலாரெல்லாந்தமக்குரியர்அன்புடையர்என்பு முரியர்பிறர்க்கு. Those destitute of love live only to themselves, whereas they who possess it are ready to give up their lives (lit. bones) for others. (குறள்.) உரியவன்--உரியன்--உரியோன், s.
