tiṭṭāntam (p. 238) --திஷ்டாந்தம்--திருஷ் டாந்தம்--திருட்டாந்தம். s. (sometimes திஷ்டாந்த ரம்.) A proof, example, instance, illustration, demonstration, something obvious. (See தாட்டாந்தம்.) 2. teḷi (p. 257) கிறது, ந்தது, யும், ய, v. n. To become chear, limpid, transparent, by the settling or subsiding of sediment, தெளிவாக. 2. To become serene or clear as the sky, the mind, the countenance; to clear off, to become bright as a shining body, the water of a gem, &c., ஒளிர. 3. To become whoite as cloths by washing, வெள்ளையாக, 4. To pass away, as scarcity, an epidemic, dulness, sheep, fear, &c., to cease as war, doubt, error, ignorance, பஞ்சமுதலியனஒழிய. 5. vli (p. 377) கிறேன், ந்தேன், வேன், வலிய, v. n. To be excited, stimulated, முயல. 2. To venture, துணிய. 3. To stay, தங்க. 4. v. a. To force, பலவந்தமாக. வலிந்தகருத்து, s. A forced meaning. (p.) வலிந்துகோடல், v. noun. [lit. drawing by force.] Interpreting verses by farfetched meanings, forcing upon a passage, a meaning not obvious; such meaning is called, வலிந்துகோடற்பொருள். வலிய, inf. [as adv.] Voluntarily, freely, spontaneously, gratuitously, தானாக. 2. [as adj.] Strong, as வலு. வலியச்சண்டைக்குவருகிறது. Quarrelling with one unnecessarily. வலியத்தலைதந்தான். He has given himself [his head] willingly, to the business. வலியசர்ப்பம்-வலுசர்ப்பம், s. A strong serpent, a dragon. வலியவன், s. A strong man. 2. A rich man--oppos. to எளியவன். வலியவன்வெட்டினதுவாய்க்கால். The channel made by a man in power is the water-course. 15)

veḷi (p. 401) s. Outside, exterior, புறம். 2. An open field, &c., a space free from obstruction--as a plain, the air, the sky, மைதானம். 3. Ether, as one of the five elements, ஆகாயம். 4. [fig.] Publicity, notoriety, பகிரங்கம். அதுவெட்டவெளியாயிருக்கிறது. It is an open plain. 2.It is clearly manifest. வெளிகாண, inf.. To be clear as the sky without clouds. அதுவெளிகண்டுபோயிற்று. [with the dative.] To feel urged to stool. இதுவெளிக்குவராமலுன்மனசிலிருக்கட்டும்...... Make it not public, keep it to yourself. வெளிக்குப்போக, inf. To go to the privy. வெளிக்கோபம், s. Manifested displeasure. வெளிசங்கம், s. As வெளியரங்கம். வெளிச்சாடை, s. Outside show, mere profession. வெளிச்சாயல், s. Outward appearance. வெளிதிறந்துசொல்ல, inf. To speak plainly and frankly. வெளிப்பட--வெளியாக, inf. To come out, to issue forth as the breath; to become manifest. வெளிப்படுத்த--வெளியாக்க--வெளியிட---வெளிவிட, inf. To show, to indicate, to exhibit. 2. To divulge secrets. வெளிப்படை, s. That which is clear, obvious. வெளிப்படையானசொல், s. A common word. வெளிப்படையுவமம், s.
