kuṭṭāṉ (p. 117) s. [prov.] A little ola-case, basket or sheath, of various forms and uses, சிறுஓலைப்பெட்டி; [ex குட்டம், little.] குட்டான்கட்ட, inf. To tie a basket round a fruit to defend it from birds, &c. கிலுகிலுப்பைக்குட்டான், s. A basketrattle for children. சுண்ணாம்புக்குட்டான், s. A toddy-man's chunam-basket. பனங்கட்டிக்குட்டான், s. A small jaggery-basket. பிடியரிசிக்குட்டான், s. A deep, little ola-basket in which handfuls of rice are daily deposited for the temple, or for other charitable purposes. பூக்குட்டான், s.
