ēcu (p. 78) கிறேன், ஏசினேன், வேன், ஏச, v. a. To abuse, to reproach, to rail at, to vilify, to insult grossly, இகழ. ஏசாதவர், appel. n. The unimpeachable, the good, நல்லோர். 2. The gods, தேவர். (சது.) (p.) ஏசிக்காட்ட, inf. To reproach one with a wrong he has done; to rail at, twit one. ஏசுகை, v. noun. Reproaching, railery, abuse. ஏச்சு, v. noun. Abuse, affront, insult, scurrility, calling opprobrious names, இகழ்ச்சி. ஓரூர்ப்பேச்சோரூர்க்கேச்சு. Good language of one district is abuse in another. ஏச்சுக்காட்ட, inf. mṉṉai (p. 347) s. [vul. மென்னை.] The throat, தொண்டை. (c.) 2. [prov.] Anger, displeasure, கோபம். 3. Bloated cheeks, கதுப்பு. மன்னையிறங்குதல், v. noun. Putting on a gruff, pouting countenance [opprobriously.] மன்னையைப்பிடிக்க, inf. To take' one by the throat. மன்னையைப்பிடித்துறந்துவிட்டது.
