kmmu (p. 96) கிறது, கம்மினது, ம், கம்ம, v. n. To grow hoarse, to be clogged, rough or jarring--as a wind instrument, அடைக்க. 2. To be overcast, to become cloudy, gloomy, dark, மந்தாரிக்க. நாடிகம்மிக்கொண்டது. The pulsation is indistinct, rendering it difficult to determine which of the three kinds prevails. See நாடி. தொண்டைகம்மிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறது. My throat is choked up. கம்மல், v. noun. Hoarseness, குரற் கம்மல். 2. Dimness of a gem, a lamp, of glass, spectacles, &c., மங்கல். 3. (சது.) சுடர்விளக்காயினுந் தூண்டுகோல் ஒன்று வேணும். Though a lamp burn brightly, it will need a wick-pricker, i. e, the best require stirring up. சுடரெறிய, inf. To radiate, gleam, sparkle--as some precious gems. சுடரெண்ணெய், s. Drops of burning oil from a lamp. 2. Oil burnt in drops for medicinal purposes. 3. Margosa oil extracted by fire. சுடரோன், s. The sun, சூரியன். சுடர்கால, inf. To emit rays--as the sun. (p.) சுடர்க்கடை, s. Fire fly, மின்மினி. (p.) சுடர்க்கொடி, s. Incense of burnt camphor, ஆரதிகர்ப்பூரம். சுடர்ச்செலவு, s. [in astrol.] A division of the rising sign into two equal parts, for casting nativities. See இலக்கி னம். சுடர்த்தகழி, s. A small candelabria. சுடர்நிலை, s. A candlestick, விளக்குத் தண்டு. (p.) சுடர்மழுங்க, inf. To grow dim as the sun or moon in an eclipse, or when overcast. 2. To become dim as a lamp. சுடர்மௌலியர், s. The Devas, or supernals, as radiantly crowned with divine gems, or a halo of glory, வானோர். சுடர்விட--சுடர்விட்டெரிய, inf. To burn brightly or cast a long flame, as a lamp. (c.) சுடர்விழ, inf. To drop, as burning flames from a lamp. சுடர்விழுத்த, inf. [prov.] To cause burning oil to fall in drops by setting fire to a cloth suffused with it. சுடர்விழியோன், s. Virabadra, a form of Siva, வீரபத்திரன். முச்சுடர், s. The sun, moon and fire, as representing the three eyes of Siva, சூரியசந்திர அக்கினி. சொரூபானந்தச்சுடர், s. An epithet of deity. See சொரூபம். 23)

The sun being overcast with clouds, a sign of rain. பொழுதுகாண--பொழுதுபுறப்பட, inf. To appear as the sun. பொழுதுசாய--பொழுதிறங்க, inf. [vul. பொழுசாய.] To decline as the sun. 2. [as an adv.] In the afternoon. பொழுதிருக்க, [adverbially.] Before sunset; (lit.) while the sun is. பொழுதுதிரும்பல், v. noun. The sun passing the meridian. பொழுதுபூத, inf. [prop. பொழுதுபு குத.] As பொழுதுபட. பொழுதுபட--பொழுதுபோக, [as adv.] At sunset; (lit.) the sun to set. பொழுதுபட்டிடம்விடுதிவிட்டிடம்.... I lodge, wherever I am at sunset. பொழுதுபோக்க, inf. [v. noun. பொழுது போக்கல், பொழுதுபோக்கு.] To pass away time; to take recreation. 2. [prov. பொழுதுதாழ்க்க.] To idle, to lounge. பொழுதுவணங்கி, appel. n. The sunflower, சூரியகாந்தி. பொழுதுவிடிய, inf. mppu (p. 343) s. [Tel.] The state of being overcast, beclouded or cloudy, மந்தாரம். 2. Indigestion, மந்தம். 3. A beclouded state of the intellect by intoxication, மயக்கம். மப்புமந்தாரமுமாயிருக்கிறது. It is cloudy and overcast. எனக்குமப்பாயிருக்கிறது. I am bewildered. 51) *

A bad presentation of a child at birth, கஷ்டப்பிரசவம். மூடக்கொத்தான், s. [com. முடக்கற்றான் --முடக்கொத்தான்.] A twining plant. மூடதை--மூடத்தனம், s. Stupidity. dulness, ignorance. [Sa. Mood'huta.] மூடர், s. [sing. மூடன்.] Foolish or ignorant persons, stupid persons. 2. Low caste persons, inferiors, கீழ்மக்கள். மூடாத்துமா, s. mēkam (p. 364) s. A cloud, முகில். W. p. 672. MEGHA. சத்தமேகங்களுங்கூடிநெருப்புமழைபெய்தாற்போல. As if the seven clouds poured forth fire. மேகம்வருஷிக்கிறது. It rains. மேகம்வியாபரிக்கிறது. Being overcast, or cloudy. காலமேகம், s. A cloud in the rainy season. காளமேகம்s. A dark or heavy cloud, an emblem of fertility, இருண்டமேகம். மேகம், 7. The nine clouds, with their astrological indications: 1. ஆவர்த்தம், little rain. 2. சம்வர்த்தம். great wind. 3. புட்கலம், much rain. 4. துரோணம், scarcity, ruin. 5. காளம். much rain, grains all good. 6. நீலம், a scattering rain, grains dear. 7. வாருணம், much rain and wind. 8. வாயுவம், much rain, wind, heat and fear; all grains good. 9. தமம், rain, wind and thunder. மேககர்ச்சனை--மேககர்ச்சிதம், s. The rumbling of clouds, as கர்்ச்சிதம். மேகக்கூட்டம்--மேகசாலம்--மேகசஞ் சாரம், s. An assemblage of clouds. மேகஸ்தம்பம், s. A pillar of cloud. மேகத்தொனி--மேகமுழக்கம், s. The noise of clouds, or thunder. மேகநாதம், s. Thunder, முழக்கம். 2. Small greens, Amaranthus, சிறுகீரை. (Sa. Meghanada.) மேகநாதன், s. An epithet of Indrajit son of Ravana, and reputed conqueror of Indra, இந்திரசித்து. மேகபடலம், s. An accumulation of clouds. 2. see மேகம், a disease. மேகபந்தி, s. A range of clouds, முகி னிரை. மேகபுஷ்பம், water, நீர். [Sa. Meghapushpa.] மேகப்புள், s. A lark, வானம்பாடி. மேகமண்டலம், s. The region of clouds. மேகமூடுதல், v. noun. Over-spreading of the clouds. மேகரஞ்சி--மேகவிரஞ்சி, s. A kind of melody, ஓரிராகம். மேகராகக்குறிஞ்சி, s. A melody adapted to a hilly country. மேகவண்ணம்--மேகவர்ணம், s. The color of clouds. மே மேகவண்ணக்குறிஞ்சி, s. A tree, Lawsonia, ஓர்மரம். மேகவண்ணன், s. An epithet of Vishnu from his cloud-like color, விஷ்ணு. மேகவாகனன், appel. n. One whose vehicle is a cloud; the cloud-borne, an epithet of Indra, இந்திரன். மேகாதிபன், s. [in calendars.] The planet that governs the clouds for the year; [ex அதிபன்.] மேகாந்தகாரம், s.
