pākaṉ (p. 305) s. A groom, a muleteer or elephant-driver, as தேர்ப்பாகன். [pl. பாகர்.] 2. Mercury the planet, புதன். (p.) 3. (fig.) A go-between, one who negotiates affairs for others, commonly in an ill sense. உதவியாய்க்கருமம்நடத்துவோன். [usage.] 4. one who negotiates love matters for others, a pimp, சங்கம்வாங்கி; [usage.] [ex பாகம்.] இவன்விளையாட்டுக்கெல்லாம்பாகன். He is the agent in all these tricks. (Jaff.) 18)
