இரசம்
iracam (p. 48) s. Flavor, relish; what is tasteful, agreeable, palatable, delicious; taste in general, good or bad--also the six flavors. (See சுவை.) 2. Sweetness, இனிமை. 3. Sweet juice of fruits, &c., vegetable juice in general, சாறு. 4. Mercury, quicksilver, hydrargyrum, பாதரசம். 5. (p.) One of the juices of the body, சத்ததாதுவினொன்று. (See தாது.) It corresponds more with chyle than any other, but probably it is fanciful. 6. Pepper-water made of several ingredients, மிளகுநீர். 7. [in rhetoric.] The passions or emotions of the mind expressed by gesture, exhibited in action and transferred to poetry, வீரமுதலியவெண்சுவை. Of these eight are given; viz.: 1. வீரம் or வீரியம், courage. 2. அச்சம், பயம், or பயானகம், fear, terror. 3. இழிப்பு, விபற்சம், குற்சை, அருவரு ப்பு, abominating, loathing at or disgusting. 4. வியப்பு or அற்புதம், wonder, surprise, astonishment. 5. காமம், சிங்காரம், சிருங்காரம், love, sexual love. 6. அவலம் or கருணை, acute sensibility, weakness, tenderness, mercy, pity, clemency. 7. உருத்திரம், கோ பம், இரௌத்திரம், பெருங்கோபம், warlike fury, wrath, displeasure, rage. 8. நகை, பெரு நகை or ஆசியம், laughter, mirth, risibility, great or intense laughter, laughing in contempt. By some, சாந்தம், tranquillity, equanimity, peace, abstraction or the stoicism of the ascetics; and by others வற்சலம், parental tenderness are given as a ninth meaning; இரசம் is added at pleasure with the loss in some cases of its initial-as வீராசம், இழிப்பிரசம், &c. Wils. p. 697. RASA. இரசகந்தாயம், s. Tribute, the fatness of the earth. இரசகந்தாயமாய்ப்பேச, inf. To speak pleasingly. இரசகருப்பூரம், s. Muriate of mercury, ஓர்மருந்து. இரசகுண்டு, s. [prop. இரசக்குண் டு.] A globular glass filled with mercury as a decoration at weddings, &c., also as a charm. இரசகுளிகை--இரசமாத்திரை, s. A quick-silver pill employed in medicine, இரசத்தினாற்செய்தமாத்திரை. 2. [in alchemy.] A pill feigned to be used by a class of persons called சித்தர், now in the world of Indra, who thereby perform supernatural actions--as கமனஞ்செய்கை, or passing through the air to any desired place, சித்தர்குளிகை. இரசக்கட்டு, s. Condensed mercury, சூதக்கட்டு. இரசக்கிணறு--இரசக்குழி, s. A pit or mine where quick-silver is obtained. இரசக்குடுக்கை, s. A little bottle of mercury. இரசசிந்தூரம், s. Red precipitate of mercury. இரசஞ்சுத்திபண்ண, inf. To purify quick-silver. இரசதாது, s. Quick-silver, சூதம். Wils. p. 698. RASAD'HATU. இரசதாளி, s. A species of plantain, கப்பல்வாழை. இரசத்தைக்கட்டிப்புடமிட, inf. To reduce mercury by decoction. இரசத்தைப்பஸ்மமாக்க, inf. To reduce mercury into powder. இரசநாதம், s. Quick-silver, இர சம். Wils. p. 698. RASANATHA. இரசபஸ்பம்--இரசபஸ்மம்--இரச பற்பம், s. Mercury reduced to white powder, a kind of muriate of mercury or calcinated mercury, சூதபஸ்பம். Wils. p. 698. RASAB'HASMAN. இரசபாஷாணம், s. A kind of prepared arsenic. இரசப்பிரீதி--இரசமாதா, s. One of the hundred-and-twenty kinds of arsenic in its natural state. இரசமணி, s. Hard globules of mercury prepared by incantations, &c., and worn as an amulet in order to prevent evil, cure diseases, to promote success in undertakings, &c. இரசமுறிக்க, inf. To prepare mercury for medicine. 2. To carry mercury off from the body. இரசலிங்கம், s. Vermilion, சாதி லிங்கம். 2. A case of mercury for a linga. இரசவாதம்--இரசவித்தை, s. Alchemy--one of the sixty-four கலைஞானம். இரசவாதம்பண்ண, inf. To practise the art of alchemy. இரசவாதி, s. An alchemist. இரசவாழை--இரதவாழை, s. [improp. இதரைவாழை.] A species of plantain, பேயன்வாழை. இரசவைப்பு, s. Any preparation from mercury--as a muriate, sulphate, &c., an amalgam. இரசனை, s. Flavor, deliciousness, sweetness, delicacy, சுவை. 2. The tongue, நாக்கு. 3. Juice, sap, essence, சாறு. இரசாதிபதி--இரசாதிபன், s. [in astrology.] The sun or one of the planets presiding over fruits, vegetables, &c., for the given years, இரசவஸ்துகட்கதி காரியாங்கிரகம். இரசாபாசம், A loss of flavor, or of juice. இரசேந்திரம், s. kricṉm (p. 96) --கரிசனை, s. Tender regard, relative affection--as parental, filial, &c.; kind concern, intentness, solicitude, partiality, attachment, earnestness, பரிவு. இக்காரியத்திலேயவர்மெத்தக்கரிசனமாயிருக்கிறார்... kuṟṟm (p. 132) s. Fault; moral or physical imperfection, blemish, defect, deformity. பி ழை. 2. Crime, misdemeanor, guilt, தீங்கு. 3. Impurity; ceremonial or moral defilement--as cause of offence to the deity, of blight to plants, &c., சூதகம். 4. Reproach, stigma, charge, accusation, blame, குறை. 5. Amercement, mulct, fine, அபராதம். 6. (சது.) Sickness, நோய். முக்குற்றம், s. The three kinds of evil, incident to the soul in connexion with births, as darkening the understanding and leading to sin. 1. காமம், sexual desire, lust. 2. வெகுளி, anger. 3. மயக்கம், bewilderment, mental illusion. யாக்கைக்குற்றம், s. To conviet, charge with a fault or crime; to accuse. அவன்மேற்குற்றஞ்சுமத்து. He has been found guilty. குற்றஞ்சாராதவன், s. An innocent man. குற்றஞ்செய்ய--குற்றம்பண்ண, inf. To commit a fault; to perpetrate a crime; to do wrong, &c. குற்றஞ்சொல்ல, inf. To accuse, criminate, blame, censure, charge with fault; to impeach. 2. To object, gainsay. 3. To criticize; to be hypercritical, censorious, captious; to expose faults. குற்றத்தைமறைக்க, inf. To deny a crime; to hide a fault. குற்றந்தீர்க்க--குற்றம்பரிகரிக்க, inf. To correct faults, to free from faults; to expurgate, exculpate, absolve. குற்றந்தெரிக்க, inf. To exhibit faults; to criticize, to sift--as a literary production. குற்றப்பட, inf. To be in fault; to be found guilty, criminal, blameable. குற்றப்பாடு, v. noun. The state of being in fault; accusation, imputation. குற்றம்பார்க்க--குற்றம்பிடிக்க, inf. To find fault, to be censorious. குற்றம்பார்க்கிற்சுற்றமில்லை. Censoriousness destroys friendship. குற்றமில்லான்--குற்றங்களில்லான், s. Argha--as an immaculate being, அருகன். 2. Any holy being; an innocent person. குற்றமிறுக்க, inf. To pay a fine. குற்றம்பாராட்ட, inf. To exaggerate one's faults; to magnify guilt; to dwell too much upon one's faults. குற்றம்பொறுக்க, inf. குலம்
kulam (p. 127) s. [in poet. குலன்.] Tribe, family, lineage, race; caste, nation, people, சாதி. 2. Herd, flock, shoal, assemblage, collection, கூட்டம். 3. Kind, class, species, sort, genus, இனம். 4. House, abode, மனை. 5. Royal palace, அரமனை. Wils. p. 233. KULA. 6. Family, rank, respectability or eminence of descent, உயர்குலம். 7. (Rott.) An inhabited country, குடி. 8. (பிங்.) The twentyseventh lunar asterism, or nacshatra; also, the time the moon accupies in traversing the nacshatra, இரேவதி. குரங்கானாலுங்குலத்திலெடு. Though an ape, let a wife be from one's own family. குலங்குப்பையிலே பணம்பந்தியிலே. Rank or caste is on the dung-hill, while wealth sits in state; i. e. the wealthy are honored. கோடாலிக்காம்பு குலத்துக்கீனம். The axehandle brings ruin to its race (by assisting to cut down trees)--spoken of a person who brings disgrace and ruin to his family. குலகன்மம், s. Customs attaching to a family, through successive generations, குலாசாரம். Wils. p. 233. KULAKARMMA. குலகாயம், s. The rules or regulations of caste, குலவொழுக்கம். இதுனக்குக்குலகாயமாயிருக்கிறது. This is the custom of your family or tribe. குலகூடஸ்தன், s. The first ancestor of a race or lineage. குலக்கொடி--குலஸ்திரீ--குலபத்தினி --குலாங்கனை, s. The lawful wife. 2. A woman reputed for chastity. 3. A woman of good family and caste, and of repute for chastity. குலக்கொழுந்து, s. A rare son, the sprout or hope of the family. குலவிளக்கு, s. A light to the family or caste-spoken of a chaste matron. குலங்கெட்டவன், s. One who has lost his caste; an object, low-caste fellow. குலசிரேட்டன்--குலஸ்தன்--குலத்தன்-குலமான், s. One born of a good family. குலட்சயம், s. The ruin or decay of a family or tribe. wills. p. 233. KULAKSHAYA. குலதருமம், s. The customs, duties, offices, &c., peculiar to, or proper for, a caste, &c. Wils. 233. KULAD'HARMMA. குலதிலகம்--குலதிலதம், s. One who is an honor to his family; the respectable head of a family. 2. Very pure lineage; eminence of caste. Wils. p. 233. KULATILAKA. குலதம்பிரான்--குலகுரு, s. A family guru, the guru of a race or tribe. குலதெய்வம், s. The family, tutelary deity. 2. The deity of the tribe. குலத்துக்குத்தக்ககுணம், s. Disposition, habits, or propensities peculiar to a caste. குலத்துக்குத்தக்கநடை, s. Behaviour suitable to one's caste. குலந்தெரிக்க, inf. To dwell on another's parentage--commonly in ridicule. குலபதி, s. The head of a caste or tribe. Wils. p. 233. KULAPATI. குலப்பகை, s. Natural antagonism between different species--as between cats and dogs. 2. In-bred malice, hatred, &c., between tribes, perpetuated from generation to generation. குலப்பழி, s. Offence or malice, perpetuated from generation to generation. குலப்பழுது--குலவடு, s. Stigma on a family. 2. Meanness of caste. குலப்பரத்தை, s. A courtezan by birth, or ancestry. 2. A courtezan, not common but kept by one man; a kept mistress. குலமகள்--குலப்பெண், s. THe lawful wife. 2. A woman of good caste, reputed for chastity. குலமக்கட்கழகுதன்கொழுநனைப்பேணுதல். It is becoming in a lawful and virtuous wife to cherish and honor her husband. குலமகன், s. A man of respectable caste. 2. A legitimate son. குலமங்குதல், v. noun. Being reduced in respectability, circumstances, &c. குலமணி, s. A genuine gem; (fig.) one of an illustrious birth. குலமிலான்--குலவீனன், s. A man of low caste. குலமுறைகிளத்த--குலஞ்செப்ப, inf. To give the genealogy of a family. குலங்கூற--குலம்பேச, inf. To twit one of low parentage. 2. To boast or talk of one's own or another's high birth. குலம்புகுந்தவன், s. One who has mingled with persons of a strange caste, a term of reproach. குலம்பெயர, inf. [prov.] To be changed for the better or worse--as a tree by transplanting; to improve or degenerate. குலவித்தை, s. The arts, duties, or employments peculiar to a family or caste. குலவிருது, s. The standard or banner peculiar to a family. 2. A peculiarity or propensity in an individual, common to his family. குலாசாரம், s. The custom, usage, duties, rites, &c., of a caste or tribe. Wils. p. 234. KULACHARA. குலாசாரங்காட்டுகிறான். He betrays his family or caste propensities. குலாசாரியன், s. The family priest-as குலகுரு. Wils. p. 234. KULACHARYYA. குலாதிக்கன், s. One of high caste or family, குலசிரேட்டன். குலாபிமானம், s. Family pride, pride of birth. 2. Respectability of caste, family, &c., சாதிமானம். Wils. p. 234. KULAB'HIMANA. குலிஞன்--குலிஞ்சன், s. A person of a high family, of honorable descent, &c., குலமுள்ளோன். குலீனன், s. One of a high family, &c. Wils. p. 234. KULEENA. குலோத்துங்கன், s. The respectable chief of a family. 2. The name of an illustrious prince of the Chola dynasty. குலடன், s. An adopted son, a foster child, சுவீகாரபுத்திரன். Wils. p. 233. KULAT'A. குலகிரி--குலபர்வதம்--குலாசலம், s. The eight mountains in Jambu Dwipa, (See கிரி.) 2. Seven mountain which are supposed to be in each of the seven Dwipas. 3. The circular mountains which are fancied to surround the annular seas respectively, together with the one which sorrounds the Pushkara Dwipa. (காந்.) நற்குலம், s. A good caste or tribe. 2. An excellent kind. இதுநற்குலதீவிதிராட்சச்செடி. This is a very choice vine. இவன்நற்குலத்தான்--நற்குலத்தோன். He is a man of a high caste, or family. 20)
கோத்திரம்
kōttiram (p. 150) s. Tribe, race, caste, lineage, ancestry, parentage, குலம். (c.) 2. A class, genus, species, வர்க்கம். 3. The earth, பூமி. 4. A mountain, a hill, மலை. W. p. 298. GOTRA. கோத்திரமறிந்து பெண்கொடு பாத்திரமறிந்து பிச்சை யிடு. Know one's parentage, and then give a girl in marriage; know one's desert and then give him alms. கோத்திரங்கூற--கோத்திரஞ்செப்ப, inf. To proclaim another's parentage-usually in disparagement. கோத்திரஞ்சூத்திரஞ்சொல்ல, inf. [prov.] To assert one's ancestry and the Vedic verse of his family--as a brahman among strangers. கோத்திரமின்மை, s. (neg.) Being without parentage, lineage, &c.; one of the eight attributes of the deity. See எண் குணம், under குணம். 49) *
சாதி
cāti (p. 176) s. Sex, tribe, caste--as Hindu castes, குலம். 2. Lineage, race, family, மரபு. 3. Kind, class, sort, species, இனம். 4. Nutmeg, the tree, சாதிக்காய்மரம். 5. The right kind or best of the class, &c., சாதியி லுயர்ந்தது. (c.) 6. One of the ten modes of beating time, தாளப்பிரமாணம்பத்தினொன்று. W. p. 347. JATI. 7. (சது.) A tree in general, மரப்பொது.--Note. Hindu caste in the time of Menu. according to the சூடாமணிநிகண்டு was as follows 1. பிராமணர், Brahmans, the sacerdotal caste--reputed to have sprung from the face of the god Brahma; 2. சத்திரியர் or க்ஷத்திரியர், the royal or military caste--said to have sprung from his shoulders; 3. வைசியர், Vaisya caste as sprung from his thighs. This class is threefold; (a) கோவைசியர், herdsmen. (b) தனவைசியர், the mercantile caste including செட்டிகள். (c.) பூவைசியர், the agriculturalists embracing வேளாளர். 4. சூத்தி ரர், Sudra caste, embracing artificers and other servile tribes, supposed to have sprung from Brahma's feet. Of these eighteen are named, but the number is much greater. See குடிமை.--Note. 2. All the Tamil authorities, except the Nighandu, make the கோவைசியர் and பூவைசியர் including the வேளாளர் as the fourth or சூத் திரர் caste, and all inferior to these as சங்கர சாதி or mixed caste.--Note. 3. Brahmans call the கோவைசியர் and the பூவைசியர், சற்சூத்தி ரர் or superior Sudras, and the சூத்திரர் they call தற்சூத்திரர் or real Sudras. எந்தச்சாதியாடுவேணும். What kind of sheep do you want? நான்குபதினெட்டுச்சாதி. A mixture of the castes, high and low, (lit.) the four and eighteen castes intermixed, in contempt. சாதிக்குத்தக்கபுத்தி. The different degrees of intellect that characterize the respective castes; commonly spoken of inferiors. சாதியந்தப்புத்திகுலமந்த ஆசாரம். Every caste, has its degree of intellect, and every tribe its peculiar habits, usages, &c.-spoken when one of low caste does wrong. சாதிகுலம், s. [prov.] High caste. 2. Caste. சாதிகெட்டவன், s. One of low caste. 2. One degraded from caste. சாதிக்கட்டு, s. Customs of caste. See கட்டு. சாதிக்கலப்பு, v. noun. A mixed caste. 2. See கல. v. a. சாதிக்கலாபம், s. Caste disturbance, commonly, the quarrel between இடங்கை and வலங்கை; the right and left hand castes. சாதிக்காரன், s. A person of good caste, of unmixed descent. 2. A genuine European, or one of pure European descent. அன்னியசாதி, s. Foreigners, low castes, tribes, &c. 2. (அள.) Foreign species, not of its own species, பிறவினம். கீழ்சாதி, s. Low caste. மேல்சாதி, s. High caste. ஈனசாதி, s. Degraded caste. See ஈ னம். தீண்டாச்சாதி, s. A degraded low caste person, not to be touched. தின்னாச்சாதி, s. Castes in whose houses, one of a better caste will not eat. பலபட்டடைச்சாதி, s. Mixed caste, mixed multitude of low castes. மிருகசாதி, s. The brute creation. 2. Stupid tribes, அறிவிலார். மடையசாதி--மடைச்சாதி, s. Ignorant people. 2. Low and ignorant tribes. சாதிகம்--சாதீகம், s. Customs peculiar to a tribe or caste. (p.) சாதிக்குணம், s. Habits, characters, disposition, &c., peculiar to a caste. சாதிசனம், s. Tribe and kindred. (c.) சாதிசாங்கரியம், s. Mixture of caste by marriage, சாதிக்கலப்பு. (p.) சாதிதருமம், s. Peculiar and prescribed duties, practices, employments, &c., of the respective castes, &c. See தருமம். சாதித்தலைமை, s. The chieftaincy over the tribe. 2. The chief, chieftain, &c. சாதிக்காரை, s. [prov.] Worthiness, competency, fitness, &c., in a disciple for a high degree of the illuminating தீட்சை of the Guru. (Limited.) சாதிப்பிரஞ்சகரம், s. Breaking caste, departure from caste-rules--one of the nine sins for which atonement is to be made; [ex பிரஞ்சம், injury.] (p.) சாதிபேதம்--சாதிவித்தியாசம்--சாதிவேற் றுமை, s. Diversity of castes, difference of caste. 2. The different castes. 3. Different kind, sorts, classes. சாதிப்பகை, s. Rancor or implacable hatred between different tribes, parties, &c. சாதிப்பண்பு, s. Traits, characteristics of a caste--commonly in a bad sense. சாதிப்பிரஷ்டத்துவம், s. Declension from the rules of caste--as சாதிப்பிரஞ்ச கரம், சாதிமுறைதப்பல். (p.) சாதிப்பிரஷ்டன், s. One of mixed caste, an out-caste, சாதியீனன். சாதிமார்க்கம்--சாதிசுபாவம், s. The manners of a tribe or nation. (R.) சாதிமானம், s. Regard for one's own caste, sympathy among those of the same caste; [ex மானம்.] சாதிமுறை--சாதிமுறைமை, s. The laws, usages, rules, &c., of a caste. சாதிமான், s. One of a superior caste. சாதியாசாரம், s. Habits, customs, manners, professions, &c., of the caste. சாதியீனன், s. One of low caste, an out-caste. சாதியையிழுக்க, inf. To expatiate or dwell upon the low parentage of another. சாதியைவிட, inf. To break caste. சாதிவருணாச்சிரமம், s. [com. சாதிவ ருணாச்சிரம்.] The caste, class, religious order, &c.,--Note. This word is sometimes used as synonymous with சாதியா சாரம். சாதிநீலம், s. A genuine sapphire.-Note. All the gems, metals, &c., are in like manner distinguished. சாதிக்குதிரை, s. A horse of fine breed. சாதிக்காய், s. Nutmeg, (lit.) the nut of the சாதி tree. சாதிக்காய்த்தயிலம், s. Oil of nutmeg. சாதிச்சரக்கு, s. Good commodities. See சரக்கு. சாதிப்பூ, s. Mace, சாதிக்காய்ப்பூ. சாதிமணி, s. A genuine gem. (p.) சாதிமரம், s. The nutmeg tree, as சாதி. சாதிமல்லிகை, s. An excellent kind of Jasmine. Jasminum grandiflorum, L. சாதிவெள்ளைக்காரன், s. Abundant, copious, மிகுந்த. 4. Much, intence, அதிகமான. 5. Auspicious, propitious, fortunate, நன்னிமித்தமுள்ள.--Note. Good caste. நற்குறி, s. As நற்சகுனம்--opps. to துற்குறி. 2. நற்கோள், s. Benign planets, viz. Mercury (not in conjunction with the son), Venus, Jupiter, and the moon in her increase--oppos. to தீக்கோள். நற்சகுனம், s. A good omen, favorable angury. நற்சமயம், s. Good opportunity. நற்சரக்கு, s. Undamaged goods, &c. See சரக்கு. நற்சலாபம், s. A lucrative pearl-fishery. நற்சாந்து, s. Mortar as distinguished from clay, often used in building. 2. Fine palster, stucco, நற்சந்தனம். நற்சார்பு, s. A virtuous or relagious tendency. See சார்பு. நற்சாளை, s. A superior kind of சாளை fish. நற்சீந்தில், s. A sweetish kind of சீந்தில் creeper. See சீந்தில். நற்சீரகம், s. Good cumin, as distinguished from black. நற்சீர், s. A good state. நற்செங்கல், s. Yellow ochre, used for dying the garments of the Saiva devotee, மஞ்சட்காவிக்கல். (சது.) நற்செய்தி, s. Auspicious tidings, event, &c. நற்பிரியம், s. Good will. 2. (R.) A shrub, ஓர்செடி, Pharniaceum, L. நற்பெண்டு, s. [for நல்லபெண்டு.] A good woman. நற்பெண்டுக்கொருசொல்நன்மாட்டுக்கொருசூடு. One word to a good woman, one branding to a good cow. நற்றாய், s. One's own mother, as பெற்ற தாய். (p.) நன்காடு, s. A burning ground, சுடு காடு. (p.) நன்குரல், s. A well omened sound. நன்கொடை, s. Donation, gratuity, benefaction, present, உபகாரலீகை. நன்செய், s. [vul. நஞ்சை.] A rice field, நெல்விளைபுலம். நன்சொல், s. Compliment, civility in words, இன்சொல். 2. Good advice, profitable discourse, words of comfort. நன்மக்கள், s. Good children, virtuous offspring. 2. The good, the virtuous, the eminent, சான்றோர். (நீதிநெறி.) நன்மச்சான், s. [vul. fem. நன்மச்சினி.] Son of a mother's brother. நன்மச்சினி, s. A female cousin, properly the daughter of a maternal uncle or aunt. நன்மருகன்--நன்மருமகன், s. A man's sister's son, or a woman's brother's son, சொந்தமருமகன். நன்மருகி--நன்மருமகள், s. A man's sister's daughter, or a woman's brother's daughter, சொந்தமருகி. நன்மனம், s. As நல்லமனம். (R.) நன்மாதிரி, s. A good example; a good pattern or specimen, &c. நன்மாமன், s. A maternal uncle. நன்மாமி, s. A paternal aunt. நன்மார்க்கம், s. Virtue, virtuous conduct, morality. நன்முகம், s. Benignity; cheerfulness of countenance, pleasant looks, as நல்ல முகம். நன்மைத்துனன், s. [fem. நன்மைத்துனி.] A male cousin, properly son of a maternal uncle of aunt, நல்லம்மான்புதல்வன். நன்னடை, s. Good conduct, நல்லொ ழுக்கம். நன்னயம், s. Gratifying words, affability, இன்சொல். 2. Civility, politeness, complaisance, உபகாரம். 3. Goodness, நன் மை. (See நயம்.) 4. Thought, நினைவு. (p.) நன்னருக்கல்--நன்னெருக்கல், s. [prov.] Slight, internal pains, as in the first stages of pregnancy, first labor-pains; also from hunger, indigestion, fever, &c., சிறுநோ. (Jaffna usage.) நன்னலம், s. Excellence, eminence, மேன்மை. 2. Beauty. அழகு. (p.) நன்னிலம், s. Good land, நல்லபூமி. 2. A rice field. நன்செய். நன்னிலை, s. Observance of a proper and prescribed couse of conduct, நல் லொழுக்கம். 2. Religious austerities, தவம். 3. The world, உலகம். (சது.) நன்னிறம், s. White, as being the simplest or purest color, வெண்மை. (p.) நன்னிறத்தியல்பெனநாடினர்கொளலே. It must be understand that it is the nature of white color. நன்னுதல், s. A damsel, a lady; (lit.) beautiful forehead, பெண்; [ex நுதல்.] (p.) நன்னுதால், [voc.] O lady! நன்னூல், s. A good book, or moral system. 2. A Tamil grammar by Pavananti, ஓரிலக்கணநூல். நன்னெறி, s.
