pyir (p. 296) s. Growing grain, a crop, herbage, shrubbery, பைங்கூழ். 2. Any useful vegetable, plant, or even tree. (c.)--The different stages of growing corn, are ஏறினபயிர், grown up corn; கதிர்ப்பயிர், corn just earing; களைபறிபயிர், that which requires to be weeded; பாற்கட்டுப்பயிர், ear being milky; நடவுபயிர். corn transplanted; முதுபயிர், ripe grain; there are also நஞ்சைப்பயிர், புஞ்சைப் பயிர், கீழ்ப்பயிர், மேற்பயிர், சிறுபயிர், &c. பயிரடித்தல்--பயிருழவு, v. noun. Ploughing between standing corn, to promote its growth. பயிரழிவு, v. noun. Waste or destruction of vegetation, by beasts flood, &c. பயிராகுதல், v. noun. Growing up as plants, herbage, &c. 2. Being pregnant as animals, as பலப்படுதல். இந்தமாடுபயிராகியிருக்கிறது. This cow is big with calf. பயிராக்க--பயிர்செய்ய, inf. To cultivate corn, trees, plants, herbage, &c. பயிரேற, inf.
