piṟāṇṭu (p. 319) கிறேன், பிறாண்டினேன், வேன், பிறாண்ட, v. a. [prop. பறாண்டு.] To scratch with the nails, claws, &c., sometimes விறா ண்டு. (Jaff.) அவள்நிலம்பிறாண்டிக்கொண்டிருந்தாள்....She was scratching the ground with her toe, or finger, from the shame. 10)
