See சுட்டு. v. பிறராற்பெருஞ்சுட்டுவேண்டுவான். He who wishes to be praised by other men. (p.) சுட்டுச்சொல்--சுட்டுப்பெயர், s. [in gram.] Demonstrative pronouns--as இவன், இது. சுட்டுப்பொருள், s. The meaning intended, கருதியபொருள். 2. The image of a deity formed in the mind at pleasure, the god appearing in that form, as a Guru, either mentally or occularly, according to the proficiency of the worshipper. சுட்டுவிரல், s. The fore-finger. (Rare.) சுட்டுவைக்க, inf. [prov. prop. சுட்டி வைக்க.] To form an image of the deity in the mind, as the object of worship, the external senses being all restrained, and the attention fixed on that only. 2.
