kīrttaṉam (p. 113) --கீர்த்தனை, s. Praising, celebration, extolling, declaring one's greatness, exploits, &c., புகழ்ச்சி. 2. A song of praise to a deity, a psalm, a sacred hymn, தேவகீர்த்தனை. (in Christian usage.) The psalmist. சங்கீதக்கியானம், s. A knowledge of music, skill in music. சங்கீதசாகித்தியம், s. Practice in music, the art of music. சங்கீதசுருதி, s. The pitch of a tune; also, the key note. சங்கீதம்பாட, inf. To sing according to art; to practise music. சங்கீதவாத்தியம்--சங்கீதமேளம், s. Music, vocal and instrumental. (c.) சங்கீதராமாயணம், s. [a change of சங்கடம்.] Difficulty, straits, entanglement--as of a cow caught in a thicket by the horns; detention, வருத்தம். 3. [loc.] A weight containing sixteen தூக்கு, ஓர்நிறை. 4. mūṭṭai (p. 361) s. Wallet, bag, sachel, knapsack; a load carried in a sack, a bale, சாமான் சுமை; [Tel. மூட.] 2. A bug, முகட்டுப்பூச்சி. மூட்டைக்காரன், s. A porter. மூட்டைத்திருப்ப, inf. To take off, and put on again, the roof of a house. 2. To twist one's neck. (R.) மூட்டைக்காரனுக்குமுழங்காலிற்புத்தி.....A porter's mind is in his knees. 45)
