iṭi (p. 45) s. A stroke, blow, push with the fist, elbow, shoulder, &c.--also with a club or other blunt weapon, தாக்குகை. 2. A thunder-bolt, அசனி. 3. (p.) A roar, thunder, sound, noise, ஒலி. 4. Ground grain, flour, rice-flour, இடித்தமா. 5. Cakes, &c., as a light meal, luncheon, tiffin, சிற்று ண்டி. 6. Pulvil, powder, dust, any thing pulverized, &c., சுண்ணம். 7. Hair-ointment, probably made of powder, மயிர்ச்சா ந்து. 8. Asseveration, affirmation, உறுதிச் சொல். 9. A throb, palpitation, துடிப்பு. 1. The standard of Indra, இந்திரன்கொடி. இடிபுரிந்தெள்ளுஞ்சொற்கேட்பர் மடிபுரிந்துமாண்ட வுஞற்றிலவர். They who are too idle to engage in any enterprize, will hear the words of rebuke which are applied to them. இடியுந்துய்த்து. Eating also millet-meal. (கல்லா.) இடிகொம்பு--இடியம்பு, s. Small mortars fastened upon a pole, which are loaded with powder and discharged at festivals, funerals, &c. இடிக்கொடி, s. The flag of Indra, இந்திரன்கொடி. இடிக்கொடியோன், s. Indra, இந் திரன். இடிபட--இடியுண்ண, inf. To be pushed about, elbowed, shouldered, battered, demolished, &c.--as a wall, bank, &c. 2. To be pounded--as rice, &c. இடிமுழக்கம், s. Thunder. இடியப்பம், s. A kind of paste or cake cooked in steam, சிற்றுண்டிவகை யிலொன்று. இடியப்பத்தட்டு, s. Flat circles or squares of braided rattan, &c., used for making the இடியப்பம். இடியப்பவுரல், s. The mould or cullender through which the paste is pressed to form the cake. இடியப்பவுரற்கண், s. The holes of the இடியப்பம் mould. இடிவிழ, inf. To strike as lightning, to fall as a thunder-bolt. 2. kōṭu (p. 149) கிறேன், கோடினேன், கோட, v. a. (Sans. KÔT'A, crooked.) To be crooked, oblique; to bend, வளைய. 2. To swerve, to deviate, to diverge, கோண. 3. To be partial, biased, நடுவுநிலைகோண. 4. To be envious, displeaced, to take umbrage, to have antipathy, வெறுப்புற. 5. v. a. To break, to snap off, முறிக்க. (p.) கோடாதகோல், s. A right sceptre, just government. கோடாதமனம், s. A liberal mind, a benevolent mind. 2. A mind free from envy, guile, bias, &c. கோடாதமொழி, s. Unfailing promises. (p.) கோடாமை, s. Straight forwardness, unbiasedness, &c. கோட்டம், v. noun. Crookedness, bent, flexture, வளைவு. 2. Grudging, malice, envy, அழுக்காறு. 3. Partiality, swerving from rectitude, injustice, obliquity, கோ ணல். 4. [prov.] Lines, figures, diagrams made of rice-flour, &c., on the floor in religious ceremonies, மாக்கோலம்; (ex கோடு.) முகங்கோடுதல், v. noun. Making a wry face through discontent, dissatisfaction, umbrage, sorrow, &c. சொற்கோட்டமில்லதுசெப்பமொருதலையாவுட்கோ ட்டமின்மைபெறின். Freedom from obliquity of speech is rectitude, if there be a (corresponding) freedom from bias of mind. (குற.) முகக்கோட்டம், v. noun. A sad, dejected countenance. 2.
