iḷi (p. 56) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. n. To grin, show the teeth--as in cringing, craving, &c., பல்லிளிக்க. 2. To laugh in a silly manner, to simper, giggle, களகளவெனச்சிரிக்க. 3. v. a. To ridicule, scorn, deride, பரிகாசஞ்செய்ய. 4. To disgrace, contemn, அவமதிக்க. (c.) இளித்தவாய்ப்பட்டம், s. Notoriety for grinning, இளிச்சவாயனெனப்படுகை. 2. The character of a sauntering idler. 3. The state or character of one baffled or defeated in his projects. குரங்குபோலிளித்தவாயன். One who grins like a monkey. பல்லையிளிக்க, inf. To laugh foolishly. இளிச்சற்கண், s. Blear eyes, eyes sore with rheum. இளிப்பு--இளிவு, v. noun. Grinning, simpering, tittering, பல்லிளிக்கை. 2. Ridicule, scorn, derision, இழிவு. 3. Disgrace, நிந்தை. நாயையடித்துப்பல்லிளிவுபார்க்கிறதினாலேயென் ன? What will it avail to strike a dog and then look at its grin? [prov.] எள்ளினிளிவாமென்றெண்ணி. koṇṭi (p. 146) s. [local.] The corner pin for a hinge of a native door--as கொண்டை, கத வுக்குடுமி. 2. Pillage, plunder, ravage--as கொள்ளை. கொண்டியாய்த்திரிகிறான். He is sauntering about. கொண்டிக்கதவு, s. A door that turns with a pin at the upper corner. கொண்டிமாடு, s. A thievish, stray cow or bullock. கொண்டிமேய, inf. To graze thievishly where not allowed. கொண்டிப்பணம், s. The fine imposed for கொண்டிமேய்தல். 51)

cellm (p. 205) s. (a change of செல்வம்.) Felicity, opulence, prosperity, ஐசுவரியம். 2. Amusement, pastime. வினோதம். 3. Soft prattling as of a female, a child, &c., மழலை ப்பேச்சு. (c.) செல்லஞ்செருக்குகிறது வாசற்படிவழுக்குகிறது.... Wealth inflates, and the door steps are the occasions of one's sliding. இந்தச்செல்லமெல்லாமிங்கேநடவாது. Your soft prattlings and delicate talk won't do here. 2. I can't leave you unpunished. செல்லங்காட்ட, inf. To caress or fondle a child. செல்லங்சொஞ்ச-செல்லம்பண்ண, inf. To prattle, use gestures, &c., as a humored child, or female. 2. To fondle, dally with a woman. செல்லச்சிரிப்பு, v. noun. A delicate, tender smile. செல்லங்கொடுக்க, inf. To be indulgent to a child. செல்லச்செருக்கு, s. As செல்வச்செ ருக்கு. செல்லச்சோறு, s. Rice given in small quantities, and great varieties, dainties. செல்லத்தனம், s. [prov.] As செல்லம். செல்லத்தொந்தி--செல்லத்தொப்பை, s. A premature paunch-belly through high living. செல்லநடை, v. noun. A gentle, graceful pace--as of children, of persons walking at leisure, &c. 2. A slow, loitering walk--as of a lazy person; sauntering. செல்லநரை, s. [prov.] Premature gray hairs, supposed to result from dainty living, and being too much within doors, &c. செல்லப்பசி, s. Frequent hunger, as in children. செல்லப்பிள்ளை, s. A child brought up delicately, a pet. 2. A gentleman of leisure. 3. The second character in comedy, supposed to have been originally a representation of Skanda. செல்லப்பிள்ளைவிளையாட்டு, v. noun. The play, gestures, and humors of an indulged child. 2. The conduct of a man of pleasure, who is careless, and extravagant. செல்லப்பிள்ளைவேஷ்டி--செல்லப்பிள் ளைத்தோவத்தி, s. A child's cloth. செல்லப்பேச்சு, v. noun. A child's prattle, especially of one fondled. 2. Soft, delicate talk of a female. செல்லமடி, s. [prov.] A premature, large udder of a heifer. செல்லமாய்வளர்க்க, inf. To bring up delicately. செல்லம்பொழிய, inf. To pay very merrily, be frolicsome, jovial. 2. To live prosperously and luxuriously, செல் வமாயிருக்க. (c.) செல்லவண்டி--செல்லவயிறு, s. [prov.] Corpulence from high living--as செல் வத்தொந்தி. செல்லன், s. [prov. செல்வன். fem. செ ல்வி.] A child or person delicately brought up. 2. A wealthy person free from care--as செல்லப்பிள்ளை. 19)

cōmpu (p. 212) கிறேன், சோம்பினேன், வேன், சோம்ப, v. n. To be lethargic, apathetic, dull, மடிவாக. 2. To be idle, lazy, indolent, slow, loitering, sluggish, dilatory, தாமதிக்க. 3. To be sleepy, drowsy, heavy, உறங்க. 4. To droop, fail, fade, &c., as persons or plants, வாட. 5. To be cast down, dejected --as the countenance, or mind; to be dispirited, சோர. Compare சூம்பு. பிள்ளைசோம்பிப்போயிற்று. The child is emaciated spiritless, drooping. சோம்பாமை, v. noun. (neg.) Activity, unweariness, indefatigability, தள ராமை. சோம்பி, appel. n. (mas. and fem.) An idle, indolent, sluggish person, சோம்பேறி. சோம்பித்திரிய, inf. To saunter about. சோம்பித்திரியேல். Don't be idle. (Avv.) 108)

viẕu (p. 398) கிறேன், ந்தேன், வேன், விழ, v. n. To fall down, to fall, to fall off--in--out-through; to fall, or sink, as the pulse. 2. To enter, to join, சேர. 3. To be apportioned, allotted, to happen by nature, as ஆரம்விழுந்தகிளி. 4. To die, சாக. (c.) மரத்திலிருந்துவிழுந்தான். He fell down from the tree. அவன்நினைவுஅதிலேவிழுந்தது.... His mind is fixed upon it. இன்னஞ்சரக்குவந்துவிழவேண்டும். The arrival of goods is still expected. நாடிவிழுந்தது. The pulse ceased. விலைவிழுந்துபோயிற்று..... The price [of the grain, &c.] is low. அவர்விழுந்துபட்டுபோனார். He is dead. ஒருவன்மேல்விழுகிறது. Attacking one. சீட்டவன்பேருக்குவிழுந்தது. The lot cast fell to his name. விழக்குழி, s. A pitfall, (R.) விழக்குழிப்பாய்ச்சுகிறது. (lit.) Thrusting one into a pit, (met) making one's business fail, endangering one. விழத்தட்ட--விழத்தள்ள, inf. To thrust one so as to make him fall. 2. To dash a thing out of another's hand. விழத்தாட்ட, inf. To throw one down, &c. See தாட்டு. விழுசுமை, s. A very heavy burden, load or bundle. விழல்--விழுகை, v. noun.
