To bellow--as a cow for its young, to cry-- as a deer or as a calf, கத்த. கன்றைநினைத்துப்பசுக்கதறிக்கொண்டோடிற்று. The cow ran bellowing after her calf. பிள்ளைவருத்தத்தினாற்கதறுகிறான். The child is crying very loud from excessive pain. கதறியழ, inf. To weep aloud. கதறுதல், v. noun. Complaining, roaring. 2) *

kttu (p. 92) கிறேன், கத்தினேன், வேன், கத்த, v. n. To cry with a harsh continued noise, to scream, squall--as an infant, கூவ. 2. To croak--as a frog; to caw--as a crow; to chuck--as a partridge; to scream, screach or make a harsh sound--as some birds, &c.; to chatter--as monkeys in fear, to yelp--as young dogs; to growl--as a bear; to bray--as an ass; to chuck--as young birds; to bleat--as calves; to make a reiterative sound--as some snakes, விலங் குபறவைமுதலியகத்த. 3. To chatter, to babble, to jabber, to talk in vain, பிதற்ற. 4. To roar, முழங்க. கத்திக்கத்தித்தொண்டையடைத்துப்போயிற்று. I am grown hoarse by talking so much. நாய்க்குப்பயந்துகுரங்குகத்துகிறது. The monkey chatters for fear of the dog. காக்கைகத்துகின்றது. The crow caws. அவன்கழுதைபோலேகத்துகிறான். He brays like an ass. அணில்கத்துகிறபடியால்சமீபத்திலேபாம்பிருக்கவே ண்டும். The screaching of the squirrels indicates the proximity of a snake. மாரித்தவளைபோலேயேன்கத்துகிறாய். Why do you croak like a frog in the rainy season? --said of one who talks too much, or importunes unceasingly. கத்து, v. noun. Crying, bawling, கூப்பிடுகை. 2. Chattering, unmeaning or idle talk, vain babbling, nonsense, mere declamation, பிதற்றுகை.--Note. Exalted devotees use this term concerning the opinions, &c., of other sects or of those of the same sects, but inferior to themselves. சமயக்கத்து, s. The arguments or wrangling of religious disputants. 2. Religious tenets exclusive of the sublimer or experimental parts. In both meanings the usage is sarcastic, spoken by opponents or by those who have arrived at an exalted degree. பொய்ந்நூலாம்அச்சமயக்கத்தினாராதரிக்கத்தெய்வ ங்கள்வைச்சமயக்கத்தினார்வாழ்வு. (Tiruvancadum) is the residence of Vishnu who appointed various gods to please wrangling fanatics. (திருவேங்.) வீண்கத்து, s. Vain, insignificant words, prating. 22) *

kalakam (p. 96) s. Insurrection, commotion, rebellion, sedition, இராசகலகம். 2. Uproar, tumult, disturbance, noise, clamor, பேரொலி, 3. War, fighting, storming, attacking, போர். 4. Discord, strife, quarrel, wrangle, bickering, eager dispute, சண்டை. Wils. p. 21. KALAHA. (c.) கலகந்தெளிந்தது. The tumult has ceased. கலகம்பிறந்தால்நியாயம்பிறக்கும். Justice is obtained by agitation. கலகக்காரர், s. Insurgents, seditious persons, கலகஞ்செய்பவர். 2. Quarrelsome persons, wranglers, bickerers, சண்டைசெய்வோர். கலகக்குருவி, s. [prov.] A sky-blue bird with dark brown head and large beak, சிச்சிலி, king-fisher, lit the screamer. கலகப்பிரியன், s. A seditious, rebellious, turbulent man. கலகமாய்க்கிடக்க, inf. To be in a state of rebellion and disturbance, to be out of order. கலகமாய்க்கிடக்கிறதேசம், s. A country that is in a disturbed condition. கலகமுண்டாக, inf. To rise as an insurrection. கலகமுண்டாக்க--கலகமிட--கல கம்பண்ண, inf. To make an uproar, to cause sedition, to rebel, wrangle, bicker, dispute eagerly. கலகவாயன், s. A noisy person, a clamorer, சண்டைக்காரன். 198)

kīccu (p. 113) s. The chirping of birds, புள் ளொலி. 2. The whining of infants, கீச்சழுகை. கீச்சிட, inf. to chirp--as birds, lizards, monkeys; to twitter; to speak or call with a shrill sound; to squeak, to cry-as an infant, to scream, கீச்சென்றுகத்த. கீச்சுக்குரல், s. A shrill voice, a feminine or childish voice, மெல்லியகுரல். கீச்சுக்குரலாய்ப்பேச, inf. To squeak, to speak in a shrill voice. 9)

kūvu (p. 136) கிறது, கூவினது--கூயிற்று, ம், கூவ, v. n. [in the gerund, it is sometimes கூய் instead of கூவி.] To crow--as a cock, சேவல் முதலியனகூவ. 2. To coo, to sing, to warble --as birds; to scream--as a peacock, பறவை யொலிக்க. 3. v. a. To call, to whoop, to halloo, கூப்பிட. 4. (p.) To utter, proclaim, சொல்ல. 5. v. n. To scold at, to brawl, அதட்ட. 6. To cry--as a child; to bawl, அழ. In poetry like other similar words, it makes the past in கூவியது, கூயினது and கூயது. குயில்கூவினாற்போல். Like the warbling of the குயில் bird. இடும்பியைக்கூவியங்ஙனங்குறுகினான். He repaired to the place, calling இடும்பி. (பார.) கூவுவான், s. The cock; lit. the crower. கூவல்--கூப்பு, v. noun. Crying aloud, bawling, crowing, calling, &c. 7)
