pṭṭai (p. 291) s. Bark of a tree, மரத்தோல். (சது.) 2. Coats forming the stalk of the plantain tree, வாழைப்பட்டை. 3. Gold or silver fringe, சரிகைப்பட்டை. 4. A stripe of streak, in general rather broad, பட் டைக்கோடு. 5. [in combin.] A flat part of the body, the shoulderblade. See. கைப்பட்டை, and தோட்பட்டை. 6. A thick fillet, web, &c., of gold thread, பொற்சரிகைப்பட்டி. 7. A collar of a shirt or cloak, a cape, கழுத் துப்பட்டை. 8. A palmyra timber, பனம் பட்டை. 9. [probably a change of பூட்டை.] A well-basket, இறைகூடை. 1. [in architecture.] A frieze, போதிகை. (Beschi.) 11. A rhomb, in gems, மணியிற்றீரும்பட்டை. 12. A broad folded seam, பட்டைத்தையல். 13. An ornament for the neck, ஓர்கழுத்தணி. See காறை. பட்டைக்கிடங்கு--பட்டைக்குழி, s. A cavity at the bottom of a well. See. குழி. பட்டைசீவ--பட்டைதட்ட--பட்டையு ரிக்க. inf. The scrape off bark. பட்டைச்சாதம், s. Boiled rice moulded in a metal cup. See சாதம். பட்டைச்சாராயம், s. Arrack extracted from a bark. See சாராயம். பட்டைதீர, inf. mṭl (p. 339) s. Any thing flat and long, especially the leaves of the cocoa, palmyra, areka, plantain, screw-pine (தாழை) and wild date, Ph&oe;nix farinifera, ஈந்துமுதலியவற் றின்ஏடு. 2. A stand for sacred ashes. See திருநீற்றுமடல். 3. A poem, figuratively describing a disappointed lover riding on a palmyra-stem, ஓர்பிரபந்தம். 4. Stem of a palmyra branch for the above purpose. 5. Eye-lid, கண்ணிமை. 6. Husk enclosing the ears of maize, சோளக்கதிர்முதலியவற்றின் பொத்தி. 7. A flower-petal, பூவிதழ். 8. The standing pole of a well-sweep, ஏற்றமடல். 9.
