uvamai (p. 66) s. Comparison, simile, similitude, உவமாலங்காரம். 2. [in the scripture translations.] A parable. The common rhetoric gives twenty-four varieties of உவமை, the simplest form is by supplying terms expressive of similitude--as, சந்திரன்போன்றமுகம், a moon-like face. Wils. p. 156.
