pārai (p. 312) s. A crowbar. See கடப்பாரை. (சது.) 2. A tool for cutting grass. See செதுக்குப்பாரை. (Tel. பார.) 3. Flat fish of several varieties, ஓர்மீன், Scomber aculeatus.--Note. Of the பாரை fish are, ஓட் டாம்பாரை, கட்டாம்பாரை, கருங்கண்ணிப்பாரை, கா சாம்பாரை, செங்கண்ணிப்பாரை, which see in their places. There is also a thick skinned fish, called தோற்பாரை. கட்டப்பாரையைவிழுங்கிப்போட்டுச் சுக்குக்கஷாயங் குடித்தாற்போமா? The elephant gives the rope to tie itself; said of those who bring trouble on their own heads. Prov. யானைக்கச்சை, s. An elephant's rope. or the string around his neck; also his girth. யானைச்சார்வு, s. A place of rest for elephants, a stall for them, யானைதுயிலிடம். (சது.) யானைத்தடிப்பு--யானைப்பிச்சான், s. A plant, Cissus acida. யானைப்படுகுழி, s. A pit-fall for catching elephants. யானைப்பெருங்காயம், s. See பெருங்கா யம். யானைமாவுத்தன், s. An elephant-driver, as மாவுத்தன். யானைமீன், s. A very large fish so called. (R.) யானைமீனைவிழுங்குமீன், s. A fish which swallows the யானைமீன். யானைமுகவற்கிளையோன், s. An epithet of Vîrabhadra, வீரபத்திரன். (சது.) யானையீருரி, s.
