tṇṭikai (p. 222) s. A superior kind of palankeep, hanging on silk ropes, and open on all sides, with a canopy; used on state occassions, சிவிகை, (c.) தண்டிகையேறஅதிஷ்டமுண்டாகும். He will have the fortune to ride in a தண்டிகை; (an astrological prediction.) தண்டிகைகொடுக்க, inf. To give permission to ride in such a palankeen; anciently as special royal gift. தண்டிகைக்கொம்பு, s.
