kākkāy (p. 103) s. [prov. காக்கை.] A crow, (c.) 2. (p.) The twenty-third constellation of the Hindus, அவிட்டம். காக்காயின்கண்ணுக்குப்பீர்க்கம்பூப்பொன்னிறம்... The yellow flower of a cucumber plant appears gold to a crow: i.e. trifles are of value in the eyes of a fool. காக்காய்க்குந்தன்குஞ்சுபொன்குஞ்சு. Even to a crow its young one is regarded as a golden one; i. e. the best. காக்காய்க்கொல்லி, s. A plant, ஓர் செடி, Anamirta cocculus, or Cocculus Indicus. 2. The stems shooting from a bunch of areca-nuts, கமுகங்குலைக்கூந்தல். 8. The hair on an elephant's neck--a short kind of mane, யானைக்கழுத்துமயிர். 9.
