Construction in which the lines of a stanza are interchangeable, the harmony and meaning remaining the same, or the harmony only slightly affected. erukku (p. 73) s. A coarse, milky shrub, the charcoal of which is used in making gun-powder, ஓர்செடி, Calotropis gigantea. எருக்கமாலை, s. A garland of the flowers of the aforesaid shrub: 1. Worn by Siva. 2. Upon the neck of a malefactor before he is executed. 3. Used in adorning the corpse of a bachelor. எருக்கம்பால், s. Milk of the எருக் கு, useful in leprous and other cutaneous diseases, எருக்கினதுபால். எருக்கம்வேர், s. Root of the எருக் கு, employed medicinally for various purposes, எருக்கினதுவேர். வெள்ளெருக்கு, s. A white species of the above shrub. வெள்ளெருக்கஞ்சடைமுடியான். ēmilāntu (p. 79) கிறேன், ஏமிலாந்தினே ன், வேன், ஏமிலாந்த, v. n. [prov.] To despond, despair, to stand aghast, be at one's wit's end, திகைத்துநிற்க. 2. To stare about, not knowing what to do--as when a great catastrophe has happened, மயங்கிநிற்க. 3. To be amazed, absent-minded, thinking of something else, நினைவுசிதற. ஏமிலாந்தி, s. [prov.] One who is despondent, aghast, thunder-struck, &c., திகைத்துநிற்பவன். 2. An oblivious person, மதிகேடன். 3. An absent staring person, மயக்கமுடையவன். 38)

ēri (p. 79) s. A large tank or reservoir for irrigation, a lake, குளம். 2. [also written எரி.] The seventh lunar asterism, புநர் பூசநாள். (p.) 3. [prov.] The hump of a bullock, இடபத்தின்முரிப்பு. 4. [in reproach.] A prominence on the nape of the neck, through corpulence, புரைகுழல். ஏரிநிமிர்ந்தாலிடையனையும்பாராது. If the ox's hump grow too prominent, it will not submit to the herdsman; i. e. if one of low rank becomes great, he will despise his former superiors. அவனுக்கேரிமுற்றிப்போயிற்று. He is become contumacious, unruly, &c.--spoken of a slave boy when grown, &c. ஏரிகரைக்காட்டாமணக்கு, s. A little shrub, Jatropha glauca. ஏரிப்பாய்ச்சலானநிலம், s.
