She has an unclean head, i. e. she has her menses. அழுக்ககற்றி, s. Lie or lixivium. அழுக்கடைய, inf. To grow unclean, dirty. அழுக்கணவன், s. Filth in general, dirt, foulness, stain, tarnish, அழுக்கு. 3. (p.) Butcher's meat, flesh, fish, ஊன். ஊத்தைக்குவிளாங்காய்சேர்ந்தாற்போலிருக்கிறது... The union of a person with another as bad as himself is like eating wood apple with unclean teeth. ஊத்தைபோகக்குளித்தவனுமில்லைப்பசிபோகத்தின் றவனுமில்லை. None washes himself so as not to require it again, nor does any one eat so as not to hunger again. ஊத்தைகுடியன், s. A kind of goblin, ஓர்பிசாசு. ஊத்தைச்சீலை, s. Menstruous cloth, சூதகச்சீலை. 2. Dirty cloth, or clothes, அழுக்குச்சீலை. ஊத்தைதாங்க, inf. To bear dirt, &c.--as cloth without showing it. ஊத்தைதேய்க்க--ஊத்தைபுரட்ட, inf. To rub the body in bathing. ஊத்தைநாறி, s. A dirty slut, துர்க்கந்தமுடையவள். [vul.] 2. A tree, பீ நாறி. ஊத்தைபுரள, inf. To be dirtied-as clothes, &c. ஊத்தைப்பல்லன், s. A man with dirty teeth. ஊத்தைப்பாண்டம், s. An unclean vessel, அழுக்குப்பாத்திரம். 2. (Met.) The body, உடல். ஊத்தைப்பிணம், s. A putrid corpse or carcass, நாறியபிணம். 2. The vile body (as spoken of by ascetics, &c.), உடம்பு. ஊத்தைப்பிணமாய்நாறுகிறது. It stinks like a corpse. ஊத்தையெடுக்க, inf. To remove the tarnish from jewels, a stain from a silk or other cloth. 2)

kẕi (p. 98) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. To reject, expel, cast off, discard, exclude, dislodge, remove, strip off, separate from, detach, climinate, அகற்ற. 2. To evacuate, void, discharge, emit, pass excrements, நீக்க. 3. To except, leave as refuse, abandon, ஒழிக்க. 4. [in arithmetic.] To subtract, subduct, கணக்குக்கழிக்க. 5. To deduct, abate, குறைக்க. 6. Garlands formerly put on an idol taken off before another ceremony. காலத்தைவீணிலேகழித்துவிட்டான். He spent his time in vain. மாடுதின்றுகழித்தது. The cow having eaten enough, rejected what remained. உறைகழித்தவொள்வாள். Glittering drawn swords. கழித்துக்கொடுக்க, inf. To make an allowance in another's favor. தீட்டுக்கழிக்க, inf. To purify from ceremonial uncleanness--as after childbirth, &c. வருந்திக்கழிக்க, inf. To pass time in suffering. மலங்கழிக்க, inf. To pass excrement. கண்டுகழிக்க, inf. To enjoy to satiety--as earthly good. 2. To be deprived of appetite by having much to do with food--as cooks, &c. சாந்திகழிக்க, inf. To remove the evil influence of planets by presenting offerings to them, &c. எச்சில்கழிக்க, inf. To purify a place where some one has taken food. கழித்தல், v. noun. The act of rejecting. கழிப்பு, v. noun. Expulsion, rejection, emission, கழிக்கை. 2. Offering to planets, demons, &c., to remove their malignity, சாந்திகழிக்கை. 3. Blemish, defect, fault, குற்றம். 4. That which is refused, rejected. 5. [in arithmetic.] Subtraction, கழிப்புக்கணக்கு. கழிப்புக்கழிக்க, inf. To expel malign influence by offerings. This is done by waving boiled rice, cakes, &c., over the head of the patients after which the materials used are thrown away. 70)

cūtakam (p. 200) s. Birth, delivery, பிறப்பு. 2. (c.) Uncleanness, ceremonial impurity of a woman from catamenia, மகளீர்தொடக்கு. W. p. 94. SOOTAKA. 3. Ceremonial impurity of a person from the death of a relative, rendering him incompetent to perform certain rites; that from the father's side being greater, the mother's less, மரணசூதகம். 4. Ceremonial uncleanness in general, as of a person, house, clothes, &c., from a death, from menstruation, childbirth, miscarriage, touching a corpse or carcass; from shaving; contact of the finger, &c., with the spittle or any part of the mouth; touching one of low caste, or bathing in a tank of his village; or weeping, lamenting, &c., for a deceased acquaintance, தீட்டு. 5. Oldness, antiquity, பழமை.--Note. According to some, the causes of ceremonial impurity are five, viz.: 1. சனனாசூசம், or சாதகாசூசம், childbirth. 2. மரணாசூசம், or மிருதாசூசம், death. 3. சண்டாளநீரிற்றோய்தல், bathing in the waters used by low castes. 4. சுராபானம்பண்ணல், drinking toddy or ardent spirits. 5. பொய்கூறல், lying. The last seems but little regarded, also the fourth by many. Instead of the last three, the following are named by some; இருது சூதகம், menstruation. உச்சிட்டசூதகம், being spitten upon. சண்டாளபரிசசூதகம், contact with one of low caste. சூதகக்காரன், s. One ceremonially impure. சூதகக்காரி--சூதகஸ்திரி, s. A woman ceremonially unclean, by catamenia, or otherwise. சூதகக்கிராணி, s. A disease attending the childbirth, from wind or flatulency. சூதகங்கழிக்க, inf. To remove impurity by the prescribed means. சூதகங்காக்க, inf. To keep from society, abstain from venery, from shaving. &c., after a death, till the performance of the funeral rites. சூதகசன்னி, s. A disease of females from sexual intercourse during menstruation. See சன்னி. சூதகத்துக்குடையவர்கள், appel. n. Heirs of one deceased. சூதகமலடு, s. One of the six forms of barrenness. See மலடு. சூதகமாக, inf. To have the monthly course as a woman. (c.) சூதகமுட்டு, s. Suppression of the menses. See கருப்பசூலை under கர்ப்பம். சூதகவாயு--சூசிகாவாயு, s. Hysterics, &c.--from irregularities of the monthly course, and other complaints connected with pregnancy. (c.) 5) *

cēṭam (p. 207) --சேஷம், s. Remainder, remnant, overplus, balance, மிச்சம். 2. [in arith.] Remainder, மீந்தது. 3. Orts, leavings, that which is rejected as impure, எச்சில்; W. p. 856. SE'SHAM. Compare சீஷம். ஒருவரையுஞ்சேஷமாகவிடாதழிக்க. To destroy leaving none remaining. ஈவுநாலுசேஷமொன்று. The quotient is 4 and the remainder 1 (when 25 is divided by 6). சேஷங்கொடுக்க, inf. To give the remainder of his food to his chief disciple, as a guru. சேஷத்தியாச்சியம், s. The remainder of a given time, which is rejected as unlucky, மீதியாயிருந்தவர்ச்சியநாழிகை. சேஷப்பட--சேஷப்பட்டுப்போக, inf. To be unclean, profane, to be polluted. 20) *

tīṭṭm (p. 242) --தீட்டு, s. Ceremonial impurity from catamenia, child-birth, contact with a dead body, having a death in the house, &c., ஆசூசம். 2. Women's monthly course, catamenia, மகளிர்தொடக்கு. (c.) தீட்டுக்கழிக்க, inf. To perform ceremonial purification, especially after child-birth. தீட்டுக்காரி--தீட்டக்காரி, s. A woman in her monthly course. 2. A woman ceremonially impure. தீட்டுச்சீலை--தீட்டச்சீலை, s.Menstruous cloths. 2. Cloths impure from child-birth. தீட்டுத்தொடக்கு, s. Ceremonial uncleanness; commonly of child-birth or the menses. தீட்டுப்பட, inf. To be ceremonially polluted. 2. (fig.) To be defiled--said of a female. தீட்டுவீடு, s. Uncomely or indecent conduct, uncleanness. துப்புக்கெட்டவன்--துப்பற்றவன், appel. n. A person of no address, one who does nothing expertly, an unhandy person. 2. An indecent person. துப்புத்துருவிசாரிக்க--துப்புத்துருப்பி டிக்க, inf. To spy into, inquire all about one, &c. துப்புப்பார்க்க, inf. To trace one's footsteps, track a thief. (Beschi.) 33)

tūy (p. 254) adj. Clean, pure, chaste. This is commonly contracted, as துய்ய. (p.) தூயசேறு, s. Pure or sweet ointment. தூயது--தூய்து, s. That which is pure, clean, unsullied, immaculate, holy, சுத்தம். தூயவர், s. (plu.) Ascetics, recluses; (lit.) the pure, holy, virtuous, முனிவர். தூயவுடம்பினனாதல், v. noun. Being immaculate, as a divine attribute, இறை வனெண்குணத்தொன்று. தூயவுள்ளம், s. A pure mind. தூயன்--தூயவன், s. A pure man. தூயாள், s. Sarasvati, wife of Brahma; (lit.) the white, சரஸ்வதி. தூய்தன்மை, s.
