iylpu (p. 48) s. Nature, property, quality, natural or essential quality, instinct, genius, குணம். 2. Conduct, a proper course of conduct, good character, ஒழுக்கம். 3. A prescribed rule, order, method, custom, habit, முறை. 4. State, condition, circumstances, situation, rank, class, &c.--as applicable to man, brute, vegetable, &c., தன்மை. 5. Propriety, regularity, legitimacy, genuineness, நேர்மை. 6. Simplicity, plainness, honesty, frankness, இயற்கை. இயல்பினானில்வாழ்க்கைவாழ்பவன். The householder who discharges his domestic duties with propriety. (குறள்.) இயல்பானபகை, s. What is naturally uncongenial or counteracting-as medicine to the disease. இயல்பானபகையாளி, s. A foe by nature--as the cat to birds. இயல்புதப்பிப்போக, inf. To be dishonest, to act dishonestly, live disorderly, go beyond the proper bounds. இயல்புப்புணர்ச்சி, s. campantam (p. 164) s. [vul. சம்மந்தம்.] Connexion, natural or artificial--as of a property with a substance; relevancy, congeniality, agreement, இணக்கம். 2. Intermar-riage. சம்பந்தம்பேச, inf. To treat of marriage--as the friends of the parties. சம்பந்தி, s. [com. சம்மந்தி.] One connected by marriage affinity. 2. One connected by birth, marriage or otherwise. சம்பந்தாசம்பந்தம், s. Congeniality and uncongeniality, attractiveness and repulsiveness. அவயவாவயவிசம்பந்தம், s. The connection of the parts with the whole. உடைமையுடையதென்னுஞ் சம்பந்தம், s. Connection between the possessor and thing possessed. உலகசம்பந்தம், s. Worldly affinity. குணகுணிசம்பந்தம், s. Connection between properties and their subjects. See under குணம். குரங்குச்சம்பந்தம், s. See under கு ரங்கு. ஸ்திரிபுருஷசம்பந்தம், s. Mutual love between husband and wife. பாசசம்பந்தம், s. nāṇu (p. 273) கிறேன், நாணினேன், வேன், நாண, v. n. To feel bashful, to be modest, or coy, as a woman, கூச. 2. to be shy, to shrink back, as from a forbidding sight; to feel repugnance or dislike, பின்னிட. 3. To acquiesce or yield through regard, அட ங்க. 4. To shrink from the touch, as some vegetables; to yield, as disease to medicine, வாட. 5. To be shy, and run away, as snakes, &c., are said to do when certain herbs or roots are shewn, அஞ்ச. 6. [prov.] To be influenced unfavorably as some trees or plants by nearness to the cocoa; to be uncongenial, to each other, as the red and white lotus, பிணங்க.
