To dictate, command, assert, declare, உறுதிசொல்ல. 4. To versify, make poetry, பாட. 5. To describe, விரித்துச்சொல்ல. 6. To give information, to notify, புத்தி சொல்ல. 7. To bid, invite, வரச்சொல்ல. 8. To harranque, declaim, பிரசங்கஞ்செய்ய.-Note. The ancient form of the past is சொல்லியது, past verbal. சொல்லிச்செய்வார்நல்லோர், சொல்லாமற்செய்வார் பெரியோர், சொல்லியுஞ்செய்யாரசடர். Those who say and do, are good, those who say not and do, great; but those who say and do not, are bad. (Proverb.) சொல்லத்தக்கவிசேஷஞ்சொல்லு. Say what is proper. சொல்லப்படாதகாரியம்.
