If you spend what you have not earned, you will suffer. (ஔவை.) கருவழித்திடலுநன்றே. It would be better to destroy the foetus, (to cause abortion.) வறிதினழித்திடார். They will waste nothing in vain. (காசிகரண்டம்.) அழிகட்டு, s. A fabrication either varbal or written to deprive another of his right, a forgery, (a law term), பொ ய்ச்சீட்டு. 2. An excuse, pretence, subterfuge, வீண்போக்கு. 3. Obstacle, impediment, hinderance, தடை. 4. Means used for counteracting magic, poison, &c. மாற்று. அழிச்சாட்டியம், s. Improper treatment, an unlawful or wicked proceeding. வாங்கின கடனைக்கொடாம லழிச்சாட்டியம் பண் ணிவருகிறான். He gives much trouble by delaying to pay the debt. அழிச்சாட்டியக்காரன், s. A turbulent fellow, a bully. அழிப்பு, v. noun. Destroying, ruining, wasting, consuming in an active sense, அழிக்கை. அழிப்பாளி, s. A spendthrift, squanderer, prodigal, profligate, ஊதாரி. 8)

The silk cotton tree whose produce is used for pillows, &c.; there are three kinds, இலவு, கோங்கிலவு, and முள்ளிலவு, Bombax pentandrum, L., or Eriodendron anfractuosum. இலவுகாத்தகிளிபோல. Like a parrot, awaiting the ripening of the pods of the cotton tree--a vain expectation. இலவம்பஞ்சு, s. The cotton of the இலவு, tree. இலவம்பிசின், s. iẕi (p. 55) கிறேன், ந்தேன், வேன், ய, v. n. To descend, dismount, sink, fall into, to be involved in, இறங்க. 2. To be degraded, disgraced, to degenerate, to be reduced in character, estimation, rank or circumstances, இழிவுபட. 3. To fall below mediocrity, to be inferior, to be below in comparison, தாழ. இழிகடை, s. [vul.] The meanest, lowest, most degraded, மிகவிழிந்தது. (Abusively.) அவனொரு இழிகடை. He is a low wretch. இழிகண், s. Inflammation of the eyes causing the lids to droop, இழிந்தகண். இழிகுலத்தோர், s. Low caste people, கீழ்மக்கள். இழிசனர், s. Persons of low caste, illiterate or ill-bred people, கீழ்மக்கள். இழிசனர்வார்த்தை, s. The vulgar dialect. இழிசொல், s. Disgraceful or improper language, பழிச்சொல், of which four kinds are enumerated, viz.: 1. கோள் --குறளை, an invidious or injurious report, tale bearing, aspersion, slander, backbiting. 2. பொய்மொழி, lying, falsehood. 3. கடுஞ்சொல், harsh expressions, irritating language, scolding. 4. பயனில்சொல், nonsense, idle talk, vain expressions. 2. A vulgar word, இழிவானசொல். இழிஞர், s. Low caste people, the vulgar, the wretched, the miserable, debased, ignoble persons, சண்டாளர். இழிதகவு, v. noun. Inferiority, baseness, disgrace, degradation, meanness, இழிவு. 2. s. Poverty, destitution, எளிமை. இழிதிணை, s. The inferior class. See திணை. இழிந்தோர், s. The vulgar, the illiterate, low-bred persons, தாழ்ந்தோர். இழிபு, v. noun. Lowness, inferiority, meanness, degradation, baseness, தாழ்வு. 2. A hollow or ditch, any hole or cavity, depressions in land, பள்ளம். வெள்ளைக்கிழிபு, s. The less or minor species of வெண்பா verse. இழிவு, v. noun. Inferiority, lowness in rank or character, meanness, baseness, தாழ்வு. 2. Contempt, disgrace, dishonor, ignominy, abjectness, wretchedness, abasement, நிந்தை. 3. Diminution, decrease, a diminished quantity, deficiency, குறைவு. 4. A hollow or cavity, பள்ளம். 5. Decay, ruin, destruction, கேடு. 6. Fault, blemish, deviation from rule, misdemeanor, குற்றம். இழிவறிந்துண்பான். One who eats knowing the advantages of a spare diet. இழிவுபட, inf. To grow mean, base, vile, to deteriorate, be in disgrace, to be degraded, ஈனப்பட. இழிவுபடுத்த, inf. v. a. To degrade, disgrace, deteriorate, debase, தாழ்வுபடுத்த. இழிவுபண்ண, inf. To treat with contempt, நிந்தைசெய்ய. தனதுமரபினிழிவுயர்ச்சியின்றி. (Choosing a wife) from a family neither above nor below his rank. 34)

uyr (p. 63) --உயரு, கிறேன், உயர்ந்தேன், வேன், உயர, v. n. To rise, become high, tall, elevated, to grow, or rise high, வளர. 2. To rise as water; to ascend as a paper kite; to rise towards the meridian as a heavenly body, மேலெழ. 3. To become proud, vain, self-conceited, consequential, to be elated, இறுமாக்க. 4. To be excellent, exalted, eminent, dignified, மேன்மையுற. In neuter forms it is found chiefly in the past tense. 5. To be raised or lifted up, உன்ன தப்பட. உயரப்பறந்தாலுமூர்க்குருவிபருந்தாமோ? Though it soars high, will the sparrow become a hawk? ஓதற்றொழிலுரித்துயர்மூவருக்கும். The study of the vedas belongs to the three superior castes. வரம்புயரநீருயருநீருயரநெல்லுயருநெல்லுயரக்குடி யுயருங்குடியுயரமுடியுயரும். As the banks are raised, the water will rise, as the water increases, so will the rice, rice will increase population, and as the population increases, so will the dignity of the crown. உயரநினைப்பவன்தாழ்வான். He who is intent to rise will fall. தானியமுயந்துவிற்கிறது. Grain sells cheap. மாற்றுயர்ந்தபொன். Gold of a superior quality, high standard. உயரஇருந்துவிழ, inf. To fall down from above. உயரக்கட்ட, inf. To build a structure higher. உயரக்கிளம்ப, inf. To rise--as a bird from the ground, &c. உயரப்பார்க்க, inf. To look upward. 2. To seek to rise, aspire, seek dignity, &c. உயரப்போக, inf. To go up. உயரவெறிய, inf. To fling up. உயரவேற, inf. To ascend, rise, to mount up. உயர், rel. part. High, elevated, eminent. உயரில்லறம், s. High domestic virtue. உயர்குலம்--உயர்ந்தகுலம், s. A high caste. உயர்குலத்தோர், s. Persons of high caste or family. உயர்திணை, s. [in grammar.] The superior or rational class. See திணை. உயர்தினம், s. A high day, a festival, பெருநாள். உயர்நிலம், s. High land, a hillock, a hill, மேடு. 2. The world of the inferior gods, தேவலோகம். 3. An upper room or terrace, உப்பரிகை. உயர்நிலத்தோர், s. The gods, the celestials, வானோர். உயர்நிலை, s. Swerga, சுவர்க்கலோ கம். 2. An upper room, மேன்மாடம். உயர்ந்தசரக்கு, s. Valuable commodities, choice articles. 2. [in sarcasm.] A great person--as, அந்தவுயர்ந்த சரக்குவரமாட்டாது, That precious piece of goods (great personage) will not deign to come hither. உயர்ந்ததமிழ், s. High poetic Tamil, above the comprehension of the vulgar. உயர்ந்தகுளச்சி, s. A kind of prepared arsenic, பவளப்புற்றுப்பாஷாணம். உயர்ந்தபாறை, s. A high rock. உயர்ந்தமனுஷன், s. A tall man. 2. A man of high station. உயர்ந்தவயசு, s. A great age, advanced age. உயர்ந்தோர், s. The great, the learned, the renowned, the exalted in piety, virtue, austerities, &c., sages, ascetics, சான்றோர். 2. High caste persons, உயர்குலத்தோர். 3. The celestials, வானோர். 4. Brahmans, பார்ப்பார். உயர்மலை, s. A high mountain. உயர்ச்சி, s. [impr. உயர்த்தி.] Height, elevation, loftiness, altitude, eminence, sublimity, உயர்வு. 2. Excellency, superiority, dignity, moral worth, exaltation, மேன்மை. உயர்த்திதாழ்த்திபார்த்தல். Regarding the hours of one's caste, rank, property, &c., fastidiously. உயர்ச்சிகாட்ட, inf. To show one's superiority. 2. To exhibit one's real dignity. உயர்பு--உயர்வு, s. Height, loftiness, elevation, உயர்ச்சி. 2. Dignity, greatness, excellence, மேன்மை. 3. Increase, விர்த்தி. உயர்விக்க, inf. To elevate the character of any one, to improve the disposition, increase learning, moral worth, to exalt, dignify, promote, உயர்த்த. 2. ul (p. 65) க்கிறது, ந்தது, க்கும், க்க, v. n. To become reduced, wasted, lavished, spent in vain, கெட. 2. To perish, be ruined, injured, அழிய. 3. To die, pass away, சாக. 4. uloṭloṭeṉl (p. 66) --உலொட லொடென்றுகூப்பிடல், v. noun. [vul.] Making a harsh and coarse noise--a sign of great noise, ஓர்வகையொலிக்குறிப்பு. உலொடலொட்டைப்பேச்சு, s. Vain or useless prattling. உலொடலொட்டையாயிருக்க, inf. To be broken, to be vain or useless. 35)

uẕai (p. 67) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. [col. for உழத்து.] To earn, gain by labor, procure by industry, to acquire, வருந்தியீட்ட. 2. v. n. To labor hard, toil, strive, drudge, ply, வேலையிற்பிர யாசப்பட. 3. (p.) To sound--as talk, buzz, clamor, இரைய. 4. To suffer, endure hardships, to be afflicted, துன்பமுற. கல்வியிலேமிகவுமுழைக்கிறான். He is very diligent and successful in study. நானுழைத்தஉடைமையிலேதின்கிறேன். I live by my own earnings. உழைத்தபுண்ணியம், s. Acquired merit. உழைத்துக்கொடுக்க, inf. To labor for nothing, or in vain. வயிற்றுக்குழைக்க, inf. To labor for one's maintenance. 2. To procure support by labor. உழைப்பு, v. noun. Hand-labor, toil, industry, diligence, பிரயாசம். 2. Earnings, gain, profit of labor, toil, or industry, thriving, thriftiness, வருந்தி யீட்டுகை. 3. Endeavors, exertions, energy, close application, முயற்சி. உழைப்பின்வாராவுறுதிகளுளவோகழப்பின்வாராக் கையறவுளவோ? Is there any good to be obtained without exertion? Is there any evil that may not arise from indolence? அவருக்கிலக்கணத்திலேநல்லவுழைப்பு. His application and success in the study of belles-lettres are great. உழைப்பாளி, s.
