To shift, to change sides, to use chicanery, to scheme --as in paying debts by borrowing of others, &c. கந்துமுரிக்க, inf. [prov.] To turn out of the course--as oxen treading corn, breaking the bounds. It is deemed very unlucky for men or animals to pass from the enclosure of the threshing floor except at the proper entrance. கந்துமுரித்துப்போட்டுப்போகிறான். He has deserted his company. பொலிக்கந்து, s. Chaff in the threshing floor after winnowing, containing some grain. புறக்கந்து, s. The extremities of an axle-tree. 2. The chaff about a heap of winnowed corn. கருங்கந்து, s. The second range of chaff in a threshing floor next to the பொலிக்கந்து. 15)

A cold wind, in the dewy season. எதிர்காற்று--எதிர்க்காற்று, s. A contrary wind. கீழ்காற்று, s. East wind. குளிர்காற்று, s. A cold wind. சிறுகாற்று, s. A gentle wind. சுழல்காற்று--சூறைக்காற்று, s. [prov.] A fire-brand kept burning to ward off the female demon கொற்றி from a woman in child-birth, when exposure is greater than at other times. 2. [com. முன்னம்பல்.] Foreteeth, cutters, incisors. முன்றளை, s. Fastening for a beast's fore-leg; [ex தளை.] முன்றாதை, s. A grand-father, பாட் டன்; [ex தாதை.] (சது.) முன்றானை, s. [improp. முந்தாணி.] The skirt of a person's cloth; [ex தானை.] அடிமுன்றானை. The border of a woman's cloth worn inside. மேல்முன்றானை. The edge of it worn upon her shoulders. முன்றானைபோட--முன்றானைவிரிக்க, inf. To spread the skirts, lay open the skirts, as the wife to her husband. முன்றில், s. [com. முற்றம்.] The front yard, or court yard; [ex இல்.] (p.) முன்றூதன், s. A fore-runner; [ex தூ தன்.] (Colloq.) முன்றோன்றல், s. An elder brother, தமையன்; [ex தோன்றல்.] (சது.) முன்னங்கால், s. The fore-feet of a quadruped. 2. The skin or fore-part of the leg. முன்னங்கை, s. The elbow, as முன்கை. முன்னடந்தகாரியம், s. An act of former times. முன்னடி, s. The first part; an entrancehall in a house; [ex அடி.] அதுமுன்னடியிலேயிருக்கிறது. It is at the entrance, not very far. முன்னடியார், s. [pl.] Ancestors. முன்னடியான், s. An image or statue in front of a fane, by which its tutelar god, or goddess, may be known. சுவாமிவரங்கொடுத்தாலும்முன்னடியான்வரங்கொ டான். Though the king may be liberal, the proter will not be [prov.] முன்னடைப்பன், appel. n. An obstruction which prevents chewing the cud. முன்னடையாளம், s. A prognostic, a typical prefiguration--(R.) அடையாளம். முன்னணி, s. The van of an army. முன்னணியிலேவந்தான். He came in the van of the army. முன்னணை, s. Crib, மாட்டுத்தொட்டி. 2. A first-born child, முதற்பிள்ளை. See பின்னணை. முன்னதாக, Before, as முன்னமே. முன்னந்தம், s. The front-view. முன்னந்தொடை, s. A fore-shoulder, or quarter of mutton, &c.
