Being discolored, blackened, &c., with smoke. புகைப்படலம், s. An expanse or volume of smoke, vapor, tog, cloud. புகைப்பரண், s. A loft over a fireplace for placing things on, that are to be smoked. புகையிலை, s. [vul. பொயிலை.] A leaf of tobacco; (lit.) the smoke-leaf.--The different sorts of tobacco are, வேதாரணி யத்துப்புகையிலை, a superior kind of tobacco cultivated at Vedaranyam; பந்தர்புகையிலை, Bunder tobacco, or that of Masulipatam; காம்புப்புகையிலை, tobacco strung on a line; மேலைமங்கலத்துப்புகையிலை, the best kind from Melaimangalam. புகையிலைகட்டுதல், v. noun. Making up packs of tobacco. 2. Laying up tobacco. புகையிலைகுடித்தல்--புகையுண்ணல், v. noun. Smoking tobacco. புகையிலைக்கறள், s. The soot of the tobacco, &c. See கறள். புகையிலைச்சிப்பம், s. To make ornamental, astrological or mystic diagrams, commonly of a circular figure, யந்திரம்வகுக்க. மண்டலவிதி, s. Directions for making diagrams, for worship, &c. மண்டலபுருடன், s. [also called வீரமண் டலவன்.] A Jaina ascetic equally eminent as a poet and lexicographer. His poetic lexicon சூடாமணிநிகண்டு, outshines all similar productions in Tamil. He also wrote an epic poem in honor of Argha, ஓர்நிகண்டாசிரியன். மண்டலாகாரம், s. A circular figure, course, &c., வட்டவடிவம். மண்டலாபிஷேகம், s.
