iḷkkm (p. 55) s. [vul.] Laxity, tenderness, abatement in severity, suffering, &c., relaxation, indulgence, tenderness of mind, placableness, நெகிழ்ச்சி. இளக்கமாய்விற்றேன். [prov.] I sold it below its value. இளக்கமானபொன், s. Soft or pure gold. கையிளக்கமில்லாதவன், s. A closefisted, tenaceous, parsimonious person, a niggard.

uṭai (p. 59) கிறது, ந்தது, யும், ய, v. n. To become broken--as a vessel; to crack, burst, break in pieces, split, to be fractured--as the skull, &c.; to break with force suddenly, to break or burst open--as a bank or shore; to break open--as a letter or seal, &c.; to be broken--as the skin; to be hurt--as by a wound, தகர. 2. To become broken--as the ranks of an army, to be discomfited, to retreat before the foe, இரிய. 3. To become broken--as the heart with grief, to be disheartened, dispirited, dejected, alienated, &c., to be in despair, மனம்நெகிழ. 4. To fall below in competition, rivalry or comparison, தாழ. 5. To be reduced in circumstances, to become poor, குறைய. 6. To effloresce, open, burst--as a flower, to blossom, மலர. 7. To become untwisted, முறுக்கவிழ. 8. To be ruined, கெட. நெஞ்சுடைந்தவனாய்ப்போனான். He is dispirited, dejected, &c.; he is in despair. கொப்புளமுடைந்தது. The blister is broken. ஒன்னலருடைந்துபோனார். The enemy was discomfited. உடை, s. Clothes, garments, vesture, dress, வஸ்திரம். உடைநடைபாவனை, s. The mode of dress, the gait, the manner, external appearance. உடையல், s. Any thing broken, a breach, a fracture. உடையல்நெரியல், s. Things cracked and broken. உடைவாள், s. A short scimiter, an accoutrement or article of equipage, சுரிகை. உடைவு, v. noun. A breach, disruption, eruption, infraction, crack, fracture, தகர்வு. 2. Being routed, a discomfiture, defeat, இரிவு. 3. Debility, brokenness of constitution, தளர்வு. 4. nūṟu (p. 279) s. [Gen. நூற்றின்.] A hundred, a century, சதம். 2. A term used in wishing when another sneezes, to avert the supposed evil omen, meaning may you live a hundred years, ஓர்வழக்கவாழ்த்து. நூறுதொந்தரைக்குட்படப்படாது. One should not become involved in many difficulties. நூறுநாளோதியாறுநாள்விடத்தீரும். A hundred days learning may be lost by six days neglect. நூற்றுக்கும்பிணைப்பட்டோமா. Did I engage for a hundred things? நெ சரீரம்நெகிழ்ந்துபோயிற்று. The body has grown weak. நெகிழவிட, inf. To let go slack, to loosen. 2. To let a business drop. நெகிழ்ச்சி, v. noun. Loosening, growing slack, relaxing, தளர்ச்சி. அழுத்தமில்லாமல்நெகிழ்ச்சியாயிருக்கிறது. It is not tight but loose. நெகிழ்்வு, v. noun. Loosening, slackening, being relaxed, தளர்வு. 2. nekku (p. 279) கிறது, நெக்கினது, ம், நெக்க, v. n. To be relaxed, to loosen, as நெகு. நெக்கு, v. noun. Soaked as the ground after rain; relaxing, dissolving, disjointing, losing tenacity, நெகிழ்ச்சி. 2. See நெக்கு. v. a. நெக்குடைதல், v. noun. Melting, as the heart in love, மனம்உருகுதல். நெக்குவிடுதல், v. noun. Becoming loose or relaxed, giving place as the earth, to roots, &c. நெட்டிருப்புப்பாரைக்குநெக்குவிடாப்பாறை. [prov.] The mark of the family or tribe branded on cattle, as distinguished from பேர்க்குறி. பட்டித்தனம், s. Fraudulence. deceitfulness. பட்டித்தொழுவம்--பட்டித்தோழம், s. A pound for cattle. பட்டிபெயர்த்தல், v. noun. Removing cattle. பட்டிபெருகுதல், v. noun. Increasing, as one's cattle. பட்டிப்படி, s. Allowance to a boy for folding, and watching cattle. பட்டிப்பொங்கல், v. noun. Boiling rice in the fold, and adorning the cows with flowers, &c., at the Pongul feast. பட்டிமரம், s. A club tied to the neck of mischievous cattle, to prevent their going astray, கொண்டிமாட்டுக்கட்டை. பட்டிமாடு, s. A cow or bullock that strays. See கொண்டிமாடு. பட்டிமுறிக்க, inf. To break out of the fold, கட்டுக்கடந்துபோக. 2. [fig.] To forsake or leave one's company, கூட்டத் தைநீக்க. பட்டிமேய்தல், v. noun. Straying as cattle or wild beasts, and doing damage. பட்டியாய்த்திரிய--பட்டியாய்ப்புறப் பட, inf. To play the whore, to be a prostitute. பட்டியெடுக்க--பட்டிவாங்க, inf. To take a fine a poundage. பட்டியூண், s. [prov.] Hire for folding a flock or herd, to manure another's land, taken at harvest, பட்டிப்படி. பட்டிவாயாட, inf.
