A medicine composed of eight metals: 1. பொன், gold. 2. வெள்ளி, silver. 3. செம்பு, copper. 4. இரும்பு, iron. 5. வெண்கலம், white copper. 6. தரா, brass. 7. வங்கம், lead. 8. துத்தநாகம், zinc, with different salts and vegetable juices; the whole prepared by fire and reduced to powder to be used in various diseases. அஷ்டவசுக்கள், s. To blow a musical instrument--as a trumpet, துளைக்கருவியி சைக்க. 3. To blow with a bellows, a blowpipe, &c., துருத்திமுதலியவற்றாலூத. 4. To gnaw or bore holes--as a beetle, to injure--as a moth, வண்டுமுதலியவூத. 5. v. n. To be puffed up with wind, to be inflated, வீங்க. 6. The stomach is puffed up with wind. ஊதிடுகொம்பு--ஊதுகொம்பு, s. A horn used as a trumpet. ஊதிப்பார்க்க, inf. To try a windinstrument. 2. To attempt a cure by enchantment consisting in part of blowing into the patient's body. ஊதிப்போக, inf. To be puffed up. ஊதிப்போட--ஊதிவிட, inf. To blow away, blow out, extinguish. ஊதினபொன், s. Refined gold, gold refined in the fire. வண்டூதினபுடைவை, s. A garment injured by insects, moths. வண்டூதினமரம், s. A timber or beam gnawed or pierced by beetles. வண்டூதினவோலை, s. A kind of disease resulting from bad humors in the system and attended with eruptions. ஊதுகாமாலை, s. A kind of jaundice in which the body swells. ஊதுகுழல், s. A pipe, a gold smith's blow-pipe. ஊதுமா, s. A kind of hastypudding. ஊதுமாந்தம், s. A disease of children, ஓர்நோய். ஊதுமுகம், s. A bloated face. ஊதுவழலை, s. A kind of snake. ஊதுவிரியன்--ஊதுபாம்பு, s. krumm (p. 96) s. Act, action, moral actions involving future retribution, &c., கிரியை. 2. Actions of a previous birth, good or evil, entailed on the soul and resulting in the enjoyments and sufferings of the present or a future state, fate, destiny, முன்வினை. 3. (5.) ஆகருட ணம், summoning or invoking a spirit or absent person visibly into one's presence. (6.) வித்துவேடணம், excitment to hatred. (7.) பேதனம், causing separation, dissension, discord. See தொடை. பெருந்தேவனார், s. (Hon.) Names of two professors of the Madura college; one of whom wrote an imitation of the Mahabharat in வெண்பா, which is known by the name of சங்கத்துப்பாரதம். The other was the author of a treatise on versification called கவிசாகரம். பெருந்தேனீ, s. A honey-bee. பெருந்தேன், s. Honey by bees, as distinguished from கொசுத்தேன். See தேன். பெருமகன், s. [pl. பெருமக்கள்.] A prince, a nobleman, பிரபு. 2. A gentleman, a master, எசமானன். பெருமகிழ்ச்சிமாலை, s. A panegyric in which the character of an excellent wife is described. [a change of பெருமான்.] a prince, a nobleman, பெருமையிற்சிறந் தோன். 2. Vishnu, திருமால். பெருமான், s. A prince, a king, அர சன். 2. A nobleman, பெருமையிற்சிறந்தோன். 3. mlṭu (p. 345) s. [as adj. மலட்டு.] Barrenness, பாழ். 2. A barren beast, வித்தில்லாத விலங்கு. (c.) அறுவகைமலடு. Six kinds of barrenness in women. They are: 1. வாதபித்த மலடு, sterility from bad humors; 2. கிருமிமலடு, by worms in the uterus; 3. சீதமலடு, by mucus; 4. வாயுமலடு, by flatulency; 5. சூதகமலடு, from hysterics; 6. துன்மாமிசமலடு, from fungus formations. மலடன், s. [fem. மலடி.] One incapable of procreation. மலடிமாந்தம், s. A disease in children. மலட்டுப்புழு--மலட்டுப்பூச்சி, s. A worm said to be in a barren womb causing sterility. மலட்டுமாடு, s.
