Subordination, due respect, &c. among the several branches of a family, relative bonds, முறைமை. இனஞ்சனம்--இனத்தார்சனத்தார், s. Relations, kindred and connexions, சுற்றத்தார். இனமொழிவிடை, s. One of the five kinds of இறைபயப்பது--an indirect answer. இனமோனை, s. A rhyme where the letters which begin a line or foot are not the same as those of the next line or foot, but of the same class, இன வெழுத்தால்வருமோனை. If the letters are of the வல்லினம் class, the rhyme is called வல்லினமோனை; if of the மெல்லினம் class, the rhyme is மெல்லினமோனை; if of the இடையினம் class, the rhyme is இடையின மோனை. இனம்பிரிக்க, inf. To divide into classes. இனம்பிரிய, inf. To be separated from the company. இனவழி, s. Descent from the same line or ancestry. 2. Being related to the same breed of cattle. இனவெதுகை, s. A species of rhyme in which the second letters of each stanza are of the same class; it is of three kinds, வல்லினவெதுகை, மெல்லின வெதுகை and இடையினவெதுகை. இனவெழுத்து, s. Relative letters --as the hard letters are to their respective nasals, or vice versa; also letters formed from the same sources which in the consonants run in couplets through the alphabet, and the long vowels to the short, and vice versa, இன மாயுள்ளவெழுத்துக்கள். பாவினம், s. The three classes of poems which partake of the nature of each of the four out of five classes of poems called, தாழிசை, துறைவிருத்தம். 1. Those that have some of the properties of வெண்பா are வெண்டாழிசை or வெள்ளொத் தாழிசை, வெண்டுறை and வெளிவிருத்தம். 2. Those of ஆசிரியம் are ஆசிரியத்தாழிசை, ஆசிரி யத்துறை and ஆசிரியவிருத்தம். 3. Those of கலிப்பா are கலித்தாழிசை, கலித்துறை and கலி விருத்தம். 4. Those of வஞ்சிப்பா are வஞ் சித்தாழிசை, வஞ்சித்துறை and வஞ்சிவிருத்தம். மூவினம், s. The three classes of consonants--as வல்லினம், the six hard sounding consonants--as க், ச், ட், த், ப், ற். 2. மெல்லினம், the six soft sounding consonants--as ங், ஞ், ண், ந், ம், ன். and 3. இடையினம், the six middle sounding conconsonants--as ய், ர், ல், வ், ழ், ள். 43)

A kind of வஞ்சி verse, consisting of three or more lines of two metrical feet each, together with a detached foot and an அகவற்சுரித கம். குறள்வெண்பா--குறட்பா, s. A distich of two metrical lines. See குறள். குறள்வெண்செந்துறை, s. A verse consisting of two equal metrical lones of four or more feet each. குறட்டரழிசை--குறளினத்தாழிசை, s. A verse of two unequal metrical lines of five or more feet each. குறளன், s. A short person, a dwarf. குறளி, s. A dwarfish woman. 2. A short, wicked shrew. 3. A kind of devil. 4. (Rott.) The white clay, or earth, used for the tridental mark, திருமண். (c.) 4. Reputation, celebrity, கீர்த்தி. 5. That part of the scales which incloses the needle, நிறைகோலின்நடு. 6. Fear, அச்சம்.--There are in use two kinds of marks, as பட்டைநாமம், a large mark worn by some Vaishnuvas ostentatiously; கிள்ளுநாமம், கீறுநாமம், a small mark worn in compliance with custom. நாமகரணம், s. (St.) Naming a child, commonly on the twelfth day for the brahman castes, the thirteenth for the royal caste, &c., being the day after purification. நாமகரணம்பண்ணுதல், v. noun. Naming a child with prescribed ceremonies. நாமக்கட்டி, s. Lumps of white clay, as நாமம், 3. நாமக்காரர், s. [plu.] Vaishnuvas. See நாமதாரி. நாமக்குச்சரி--நாமக்குச்சிலி, s. Wearing the Vaishnuva mark. நாமதாரணை, s. The first of the nine தாரணை, the worship of God under a name, or through an image. See தாரணை. நாமதாரி, appel. n. A worshipper of Vishnu as wearing the நாமம், நாமதாரி. நாமதேயம், s. A name given, or appellation, பெயர். (Sa Namadheya.) உம்முடையநாமதேயமென்ன. What is your given name? நாமம்தரிக்க--நாமமிட, inf. To take, have, or be invested with, a name. 2. To give a name. 3. To wear the Vaishnuva mark. நாமப்பொருத்தம், s. pā (p. 305) s. Web or warp of a weaver, நெச வுபா. See பாவு. 2. Verse, poetry, poesy as பாட்டு, கவி, யாப்பு. &c. 3. A class of verse embracing five varieties, compared to the four castes, and formerly appropriated to them respectively, and one of a mixed form. 1. வெண்பா, the best, or sacerdotal verse, composed of வெண்சீர் or இயற்சீர் feet, or of both arranged in the வெண்டளை mode. See வெண்பா. also Bab. Gram. p. 79. 2. அகவற்பா or ஆசிரியப்பா, the princely or royal verse formed chiefly of இயற்சீர், and the connexion called ஆசிரி யத்தளை. See ஆசிரியம். 3. கலிப்பா, the mercantile or chetty verse, admitting the வெண்சீர் feet, also two of the இயற்சீர், and two வஞ்சிச்சீர். See கலிப்பா. 4. வஞ்சிப்பா, the agricultural, of வஞ்சிச்சீர் but admitting all the others. 5. மருட்பா, in which வெண்பா and ஆசிரியப்பா are intermingled. The stanza begins with two lines of வெண்பா, and the remainder, not limited, is of the ஆசிரியப்பா.-Note. The first four of the above have each three subdivisions, (called பாலினம்.) viz: தாழிசை, துறை and விருத்தம், to the names of which respectively, the general term, or a contraction, is prefixed, thus. I. வெண்டா ழிசை or வெள்ளொத்தாழிசை. 2. வெண்டுறை. 3. வெளிவிருத்தம். II. அகவற்றாழிசை or ஆசிரியத்தாழி சை. 2. அகவற்றுறை or ஆசிரியத்துறை. 3. அகவ ல்விருத்தம் or ஆசிரியவிருத்தம். One of the modes of கலிப்பா verse, கலிப்பாவினோசையி னொன்று. பிரிந்திசைத்தூங்கல், s. One of the characteristics of வஞ்சிப்பா verse, வஞ்சிப் பாவினோசையினொன்று. பிரிமொழிச்சிலேடை, s. A kind of சிலே டை verse in which the words convey different meanings as differently arranged, as மென்காமரமுழக்கும்வேங்கடமே, Vengadam where beetles sing soft tunes, or where elephants tread down the tender trees in the grove. பிரியலர், appel. n. [pl.] Friends, those who forsake not, சிநேகிதர். (p.) பிரியாவிடை, s. A dieu, farewell, a respectful form at parting, implying that the heart does not leave. (c.) பிரிவினை, s. Division, separation, பிரிவு. 2. Disunion, disagreement, ஒவ்வாமை. 3. Sehism as to religion, சமயபேதம். Sometimes பிரிவனை. பிரிவினைக்காலமோதெரியாது.
