karttaṉ (p. 96) --கத்தன், s. A doer, a maker, an agent, செய்வோன். 2. The Supreme Being, the lord--used for Siva, Brahma, &c. 3. A chief, the principal, the master, தலைவன். 4. [in grammar.] The active noun, the nominative case, எழுவாய். தகப்பன்தேடக்கர்த்தன்பிள்ளையழிக்கக்கர்த்தன். That which the father gathers, the son squanders. கர்த்ததுரோகம், s. High treason. கர்த்ததுரோகி, s. One who is guilty of high treason. கர்த்தத்துவம், s. Agency, the act or property of an agent, the power of creating--one of the attributes of the Supreme Being, இறைமைத்தன்மை. 2. Lordship. 189) *

A disease of the eyes, a cataract affection of the optic nerve, or gutta serena, கண்ணினோர்நோய். Wils. p. 27. KACHA. 4. A country, ஓர்தேயம், 5. Gold, பொன். 6. An arsenic in its natural state, கற்பாஷா ணம். காசசுவாசம், s. The asthma, சுவா சகாசம். காசநீர், s. The humor in the head that causes the disease. (See காசம்.) The following are the principal kinds of காசம் --நீர்க்காசம், சுவாசகாசம், கண்கட்டிகாசம், வீரண காசம், பித்தகாசம், இரத்தகாசம், வாதகாசம்,கர்ப்பகா சம், சிலேட்டுமகாசம், மந்தாரகாசம்,நீலகாசம், பால காசம். கனகாசம், s. kṟi (p. 101) s. A spiced mixture with fish, meat, or vegetable--eaten with boiled rice, பதார்த்தம். (c.) 2. (p.) Pepper, மிளகு. கறிக்குடலை, s. A doubled leaf for carrying curry in the hand. கறிக்கூட்டு, s. Curry condiments ground together. கறிச்சுரை, s. A class of gourds, any of the edible species, சுரை. கறித்தும்பை, s. A plant so called because it is esculent. கறித்தூள், s. Curry powders. கறித்தேங்காய், s. A cocoanut suitable for curry. கறிபதார்த்தங்கள், s. Things proper to form the main ingredients in curries, not the curry seeds. கறிப்பாலை, s. A plant, ஓர்பாலை. கறிமசாலை, s. The ingredients of curry. கறியுப்பு, s. Culinary salt, உப்பு. கறிவடகம், s. Curry condiments ground together and dried in cakes to be kept for use. மரக்கறி, s. Curry of vegetables. இலைக்கறி, s. A dish of greens or pot herbs, அடகு. புளிங்கறி, s. A sour curry. துவட்டற்கறி, s. A sort of curry without any gravy. 23)

kiḷppu (p. 111) கிறேன், கிளப்பினேன், வேன், கி ளப்ப, v. a. To detach or raise up some heavy thing; to raise up one side of a thing; to disengage, to dislodge, to displace, எழுப்ப. 2. To dig up, to heave or lift up, பூமியின்கீழிருப்பதைக்கிளப்ப. 3. To excite, to induce fever, heat, &c., சுரமுதலிய வற்றைஎழுப்ப. 4. To rouse, animate, urge, ஏவிவிட. 5. To instigate, to rouse persons or things that are still, மூட்டிவிட. 6. To agitate, to discuss, கதைகிளப்ப. 7. [prov.] To raise a wall in building, to erect, to cause to grow higher, சுவர்முதலியகிளப்ப. கிளப்பிவிட, inf. To excite, to instigate, to stir up. கல்லுக்கிளப்ப, inf. To dig up stones. காந்தியைக்கிளப்ப--காந்தலைக்கிளப்ப, inf. [vul.] To excite heat latent in the body--as by cold food, &c. கொதியைக்கிளப்பிவிட, inf. [vul.] To excite heat, fever, &c., in the system. 2. To increase heat in the ground--as a slight shower, &c. கோபத்தைக்கிளப்ப--எரிச்சலைக்கிளப்ப, inf. To stir up anger. தலைகிளப்ப--தலையைக்கிளப்ப, inf. To look, to raise one's head; to lift up the head--as one sick, &c. 2. fig. To begin to signalize one's self. பத்தியைக்கிளப்ப, inf. To excite devotion in one. பேரைக்கிளப்ப, inf. To get a name, to promote one's celebrity, or notoriety; to make illustrious. வாலைக்கிளப்ப, inf. To raise the tail, --as a dog, a calf, &c. வாதபித்தசிலேட்டுமங்களைக்கிளப்ப, inf. To excite the three humors, வாதம், பித்தம் and சிலேட்டுமம் of the system. 52)

kvi (p. 98) s. Planet venus, சுக்கிரன். 2. A poet, a versifier, புலவன். Wils, p. 24. KAVI. 3. An ape, a monkey, குரங்கு. 4. A plant, பூனைக்காலி. 5. One of the four classes of poets, நாற்கவி. (See புலமையோர்.) 6. Poetry, verse, a stanza, பாட்டு. (p.) Poetry is of four kinds, viz.: 1. ஆசுகவி, an extemporaneous poem made by request, the theme, the kind of verse and some of the rhetorical figures to be wrought into it being given. 2. மதுரகவி, a poem in which sublime and gratifying ideas are couched in rich language, with varied appropriate rhymes and rhetorical figures, and all in a sweet flowing style. 3. சித்திரகவி, a poem variously of artfully composed. (See மிறைக் கவி.) 4. வித்தாரகவி, an extended poem, such as the great epics Ramayana and Bharata.--Note. Each of these four is also applied to the poet as well as to the poem. கவிகட்ட--கவிபாட inf. To make verses. கவிகற்றோர், s. Panegyrists attending a prince in his movements, மங்க லப்பாடகர். கவிசொல்ல, inf. To make poetry. கவிச்சக்கரவர்த்தி, s. A distinguished poet, புலவன். கவிஞர், s. Poets, bards, புலவர். 2. Scientific persons, கலைவல்்லோர். (p.) கவிதை, s. A poem, poetry, verse, a verse of poetry, stanza, பா. (p.) கவித்துவம், s. Poetic style or composition, புலமைத்தன்மை. கவிநாயகன், s. The person to whom a poem is dedicated, who is also the hero, கவிக்கிறைவன். கவிமாலை, s. Verses joined together. கவிரத்தினம், s. A treatise on versification. கவிராயன், s. (Hon.) A poet, புல வன். கவிவல்லோர்--கவிவாணர் s. Learned poets, bards, புலவர். கவிவீரராகவமுதலியார், s.
