To put forth young, tender leaves--as palms, plantain trees, rice, &c., to sprout, to shoot. குருத்திறகு, s. Down; soft feathers. குருத்தோலை, s. A young, tender palm leaf, ஓலைக்குருத்து. குருத்தோலைப்பெருநாள், [in Roman Catholic usage.] Palm Sunday, when each attendant at church receives a palm leaf, in the form of a cross, which has been blessed by the priest, ஓர்திருநாள். 10)
