kūtl (p. 133) s. [prop. கூதிர். in Madras, ஊதல்.] Cold as felt--the effect in distinction from its cause, குளிர். 2. Chills before an intermittent fever, காய்ச்சற்குளிர். அறநனைந்தவருக்குக்கூதலென்ன. No cold to them that are completely wet; i. e. no fear or shame to the desperately wicked. கூதல்விறைக்க, inf. To stiffen with cold--hyperbolically, for very cold. கூதற்காய, inf. kūṭu (p. 133) s. A nest, a hive; a cage, a coop, பறவைமுதலியவற்றின்கூடு. 2. A pen, a sty, a kennel, பன்றிமுதலியவற்றின்கூடு. 3. A small receptacle--as an inkstand, மைக்கூடு. 4. A recipient, a receptacle of the soul, சரீரம். 5. A case, a sheath, உறை. 6. A testaceous, or mud shell of some insects; a cocoon, புழுக்கூடு. 7. [in carpentry.] A mortise; also, groove, கழுந்துக்கூடு. 8. A case for catching fish, மீன்பறி. 9. A covering of a cart-- as கூடாரம். (Sans. Gut'ha, to envelope, screen.) கூட்டோடேபோச்சுது குளிருங்காய்ச்சலும். The fever and ague have gone off with the case (the body); i. e. the person has died. கூடுகட்ட, inf. To build nests, cases, &c.--as birds, caterpillars, bees, &c. 2. To make cages, hives, &c. 3. To put a case or covering on fruits, &c. கூட்டிலடைக்க, inf. To inclose in a cage, to encage, to coop up. 2. To enclose a charm, a talisman or an amulet in a casket. கூட்டுப்பல்லக்கு, s. [prov.] A palankeen with sliding doors. கூடுபோட--கூடுவிட, inf. To die; lit. to drop the body. கூடுவிட்டுக்கூடுபாய, inf. To leave its own body at pleasure and enter another, or an inanimate thing--as the soul is feigned to do; a magic art. கூடுங்கழுந்தும், s. Mortise and tenon. இழைப்புளிக்கூடு, s. The box of a joiner's plane. தேன்கூடு, s. A honey-comb. கூடாயிருக்க, inf. To be hollow, tubular. 25)

kūṭl (p. 133) s. A name of Madura, from the legend that large halls came into existence miraculously, to shelter the people collected there in a time of great rain, மதுரை. 2. A kind of divination, said to have been practised by females, making concentric circles on the ground, in the absence of their lovers, to ascertain as to their return, சுழிக்குங்கூடல். 3. Modification and diversities in the forms of bodies; varied evolutions of primitive matter, விகாரத்தன்மை. 4. Section, division, department, பகுதி. 5. The properties, qualities or nature of a thing; characteristic symptoms of a disease, கூறுபாடு. 6. Effect, result, product, காரணகாரியங்களின் வகை; [ex குறு, to shorten by division, &c.] 7. v. noun. Proclamation, publication, அறிவிக்கை; [ex கூறு to proclaim.] 8. s. Oily grain, எள்ளு. (M. Dic. முழுக்கூறும்வேண்டும். I want it all. கூறிட--கூறுசெய்ய, inf. To cut in two, bisect, subdivide. 2. To set in portions or small quantities. கூறுகூறாக்க, inf. To cut or separate into portions; to apportion. கூறுவைக்க, inf. To set in portions or separate quantities, to distribute and set in small heaps--as a retailer for sale. கூறுகொள்ள, inf. To stuff, cram, press any thing down with a stick, the feet or the hands. குழந்தை மண்ணைக் கூறுகொள்ளுகிறது. The child eats sand. சோற்றைகூறுகொள்ளுகிறான். [prov.] He thrusts rice into his mouth. கூறுபட, inf. To be divided or resolved into its primitive elements. கூறுபடுத்த, inf. To analyze, to distribute. 2. To resolve or reduce bodies into their original parts or primitive elements; to produce the varied transformations of nature. கூறோலை--கூற்றோலை, s. An ola-writing for the division of property among heirs. தைபிற்கூறு, s. The latter part of January. நடுக்கூற்றிலே, In the middle; in the middle part. மாசிமுற்கூறு, s. The first part of February. அக்கினியின்கூறு, s. The effects of heat in the system, &c. 2. Heat, caloric. சரீரக்கூறு, s. The temperament of the body. 2.
